Boston Beer Pulls Parade Support After Gays Excluded

Boston Beer Company has pulled their support of a south Boston St. Patrick’s Day parade after gay military veterans weren’t allowed to participate.

Boston Beer has supported the parade for years until this move. The brewery issued a press statement earlier today about the change:

“We were hopeful an agreement could be reached to allow everyone, regardless of orientation, to participate in this parade. However, given the current status of the negotiations, this may not be possible”

The South Boston Allied War Veterans Council hosts the parade each year, and has excluded gays from participating. Apparently gay veterans are indeed allowed to march, given they make no reference to their sexual orientation.
