Unless you live under a rock and star in Geico commericals, you’ve heard about the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton at the end of April. It is being reported that the couple have banned the consumption of beer at their wedding reception. Beer is unsuitable, and not prestigious enough for royal guests. DigitalSpy mentions this quote:
“There won’t be any beer. Let’s face it, it isn’t really an appropriate drink to be serving in the Queen’s presence at such an occasion. It was always their intention to give their guests a sophisticated experience and they have chosen the food and drink with this in mind.”
I guess beer doesn’t pair well with quail eggs & Yorkshire pudding? Whole civilizations were built on beer & brewing. Still not good enough for royalty I guess. <DigitalSpy>
