A brewery in Mexico has recently released a beer targeting gay drinkers. Minerva Brewing states this beer is the first of it’s kind. They went as far as saying that the brewing industry has discriminated against the homosexual community due to the lack of beers targeting gay/lesbians.
The beer – “Purple Hand Beer” is a honey based ale. The label can actually be removed and stuck to a shirt, laptop, etc as a show of pride. Purple Hand Beer is available in Mexico, Japan, & Colombia. Marketing ploy? Actually need for targeted beers? You decide.

I think targeting homosexuals in advertising makes sense, but to create and distribute a beer specifically for homosexuals is kinda wacky to me.
