Porter’s “Where The Wild Beers” Throughout January


The Porter Beer Bar host “Where The Wild Beers Are” each Friday all January long.   Here’s are look at the tappings –

1/6/12: Sour

We will tap 10 different kegs of amazing sour beers including: Tilquin Gueze, La Folie, Oud Beersel, Framboise Bacchus, Monk’s Cafe, Firkin of Hassens’ Oude Gueze, & more. 6pm!

1/13/12: Scandanavian

12 different Scandinavian beers including: Haandbryggert IPA, 2009 Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast, Sinbrechoff Porter, Nogne Imperial Brown, & more. 6pm!

1/20/12: Barrel Aged

10 different barrel aged beers including: Terrapin Oak Aged Hoppy Monster, Burton Baton, Petrus Aged Pale Emelisse Stout Aged in Jack Daniels Barrels, Oak Aged Yeti, and more. 6pm!

1/27/12: Tap Takeover with B. United Importers

10 different amazing and unique and rare beer imported by B. United.  Beer lineup coming soon.  6pm.

Allagash Invades The Porter

Allagash Brewing takes over the taps at The Porter Beer Bar on Friday (6/10/11)with an extensive tap lineup including a rare, never before seen beer to Georgia – Larry.

White

Larry – 9.5%.  Belgian Golden fermented exclusively in french oak with an Ale yeast, two strains of Brettanomyces and Lactic Acid Bacteria.  Aged in oak for 2.5 years.

A couple of surprise taps are in the works. I’m sworn to secrecy.

2011 SweetWater Brew Your Cask Off Winners!

SweetWater Brewing’s 2nd Annual Brew Your Cask Off was this past weekend, and for the second year in a row, one hell of time.  Rain couldn’t slow down this even, with casks going empty even faster than last year.  Without further ado, here’s your winners and a couple of pictures by yours truely.

GEORGIA: Port/Lost Abbey Officially Launched!

As of today, Port Brewing/Lost Abbey are officially in Georgia.  Off premise stores will be receiving shipments (snow/weather) permitting.  Tomme Arthur is making special appearances to celebrate the launch.  Here’s everything you need to know.

The Porter’s “Where The Wild Beers Are”

The Porter Beer Bar in Atlanta hosts an interesting and awesome tap takeover Friday nights in January. The takeovers have a particular theme in mind.  This Friday’s theme is  Michigan. (Beers from the state of).  I think you will be happy with the lineup

Bell’s Batch 10,000, Founder’s Backwoods Bastard, Dirty Bastard, Breakfast Stout.  Great lineup for sure – but there are 6 more RARE kegs. They are extremely hard to come by in Georgia. (You might even say, not possible). Here is a hint – The Fresh Prince. No, not Philadelphia.  We are talking about Michigan here geniuses.  Can’t figure it out?  I guess you’ll just have to head to The Porter on Friday…

CASK ALERT: Bruery 7 Grain Saison

[UPDATE 12/17] – It has been discovered that the cask tonight  is actually The Bruery’s 7 Grain Saison.  Made  using barley,oats,wheat,rye,corn,rice and spelt.  A bit less abv than rue – 5.5% ABV.

The Porter Beer Bar taps a cask of The Bruery’s 7 Grain Saison.  This is a specialty offering by The Bruery, and like their other saisons,  is unfiltered, and cask conditioned.

Style: Saison/Farmhouse Ale
