Terrapin Moo-Tella has joined the brewery’s Special Reserve Series.
This specialty lineup started in 2013 with a white chocolate edition of Moo-Hoo, Terrapin’s chocolate milk stout. After a heated round of fan voting, White Chocolate Moo-Hoo snagged a return to the series again (on shelves now).
Now for Terrapin Moo-Tella. The Nutella inspired beer uses their Moo-Hoo Milk Stout, brewed with Nashville based Olive & Sinclair cocoa nibs, and a touch of hazelnut syrup. Brewery co-founder “Spike” Buchowski chose the syrup route because of potential nut allergy issues. Don’t let that slow you down. Moo-Tell really delivers.
Terrapin’s Special Reserve Series milk stouts are a bit more robust and bold than their seasonal Moo-Hoo. As far as Moo-Tella is concerned, the beer truly delivers a Nutella-inspired experience. The nose is a blend of hazelnut and chocolate, with a creamy milk chocolate finish that becomes more and more like the dessert spread as it warms.
Our 2017 Reserve Series release ‘Moo-Tella,” is a Chocolate Imperial Milk Stout so decadent you could eat it with a spoon. The intermingling of Olive and Sinclair chocolate and the rich flavor of hazelnuts creates an experience so pleasurable it should be shared with friends.
Terrapin Moo-Tella is now available in16.9-ounce bottles hitting the market the week of November 12th.

The base beer is an oatmeal imperial stout, brewed with a special coffee blend from Athen’s, Georgia roaster Jittery Joes. (The coffee blend is actually available for purchase as well.) The brewery has spiked the stout with Montmorency cherry juice.
When life gives us cherries, we make “Tart Cherry W-n-B.” Brewed with real Montmorency cherry juice from the USA, and freshly roasted “Wake and Bake” coffee from Jittery Joe’s, this version of our classic Coffee Oatmeal Stout takes on an impeccable fruit forward dimension.
Other editions of Wake-n-Bake include Cinnamon Roll’d, that has been released a few times in the past, as well as French Toast W-n-B. This year, the brewery will can the base Wake-n-Bake for the first time.
Terrapin Tart Cherry Wake-n-Bake will be a 22 ounce bottle and draft release in December, 2016.
This edition is based off of Terrapin’s Moo-Hoo Milk Stout, brewed at a higher alcohol by volume, with cocoa nibs, coffee, and vanilla. The nibs come from Nashville, Tennessee’s Olive & Sinclair. (Note, the brewery tells Beer Street Journal they are still finalizing the final recipe.)
Soak up all the flavor in our newest reserve series beer, “Tiramisu-Hoo” Imperial Milk Stout. With all the attributes of a finely executed dessert, we have managed to create a beer that is layered with all the goodness you would expect from a succulent slice of Italian history.
Terrapin Tiramisu-Hoo follows Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler in the series. Look for it in 22 ounce bottles and draft for a limited time.
Terrapin Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler will be the next offering in the brewery’s Special Reserve Series. A sister beer, or at least partially inspired by Terrapin’s Maggie’s Peach Farmhouse Ale. Brewed with fresh blacberries and graham crackers.
Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler Imperial Farmhouse Ale is made with fresh blackberries and graham crackers for a taste you won’t soon forget. Reminiscent of the smell in Granny’s kitchen on a Sunday afternoon, this beer is liquid dessert after a home cooked meal.
Terrapin Blackberry Cobbler will be available in 22oz bottles in May, 2015.
The second release in Terrapin’s Reserve Series – Cinnamon Roll’d Wake-n-Bake will make a return again in 2015. The base beer is the coffee oatmeal stout with a cinnamon-y twist. You get both in abundance.
The Beer Street Journal video above is was done at the time of the 2013 release with Dustin Watts, VP of Terrapin marketing. Before the Cinnamon Roll’d return, look for Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler, and Tiramisu-Hoo to join the Reserve Series.
