Bell’s The Raspberry Wild One In Just a Few Bottles

Bells The Raspberry Wild One

Interesting. Awesome. And completely hard to get. Bell’s Brewery (Kalmazoo, MI) will be putting The Raspberry Wild One in big bottles.

Each of these large format releases sneak onto the shelves at the Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo, typically without any warning. The above beer is an American wild ale aged in wine barrels with raspberries. A fruity take on another rare draft and bottle offering – The Wild One. There is a Flo Rida song stuff in my head now.

Style: American Wild Ale (w/ Raspberries, Wine Barrel Aged)
Availability: 750 ml bottles, Limited Draft
Arrival: TBA (Bottles)

Jester King’s Mystery Raspberry Sour

In quite a cryptic email, Jester King says last month they added 2,000 lbs of raspberries from Washington state to oak barrels with a ‘wild, sour beer.’ No indication was provided of what this beer was, is, or will be, just that it happened. They aren’t sure how it will turn out or when it will be bottled but “if all goes well, we’ll be able to release our first fruited barrel-aged, sour beer sometime later this year.” Stay tuned for more details…

Bridgeport Debuts “Enchanted” This Week

Oregon’s oldest craft brewery Bridgeport Brewing unveils a new, limited brew this week for the Great American Beer Festival. They took the 2012 edition of Stumptown Tart, a fruit beer beer with 2,000 lbs of raspberries and aged it in oak barrels for two years. The result, a blend: 50% Belgian tripel aged in wine barrels for a year, 50% raspberry Belgian tripel.

“This is a special one for our team,” commented brewmaster, Jeff Edgerton. “The 2010 Stumptown Tart was a favorite not only amongst our loyal BridgePort fans — but also amongst our brewers. The only way to up the ante on that beer was to let it age in oak barrels for two years. The result is something surprising and pretty unforgettable.”

Style: Framboise (w/ Raspberries, Wine Barrel Aged)
Availability: 22oz bombers, Wax capped

7.7% ABV
