Harpoon Releases Pumpkin Cider

Harpoon Brewery is expanding their cider program. Pumpkin Cider is starting to hit shelves as you read this. Pumpkin Cider uses fresh pressed apples, spices and of course pumpkins. Straight from the sales sheet:

Apples and pumpkins are two of the best things about fall in New England. It was only a matter of time before we decided to bring them together. We combined fresh apples and pumpkins, along with some subtle spices, to make this cider. We left out preservatives, artificial colors, sweeteners and anything else that could get in the way of the flavors we wanted.

Style: Cider (w/ Pumpkin)
Availability: 12oz bottles, Fall seasonal.

Cigar City Busy With Another Round Of Good Gourd

Cigar City Brewing is spending Monday prepping for fall by brewing Good Gourd. The imperial pumpkin ale was a hit last year, and will be making another appearance this year. Couple of things the brewery noted – this year will be even better (meaning??)  and definitely a higher yield. Interesting. Today CC is brewing a pumpkin beer, while others are already on shelves – IN JULY!

Style: Pumpkin Beer
Availability: 750 ml bottles. Late August release.

Shipyard Now Brewing In Tennessee, Here Come The Cans

Shipyard Brewing (Portland, ME) has leased a space all the way in Tennessee in order to expand the overall capacity and introduce cans.

“This is a very exciting time in our growth,” stated Shipyard’s president Fred Forsley.  “Our brewery in Portland is at full capacity and this allows us to meet consumer demand for our products.”

The new space in Memphis, Tennessee is created to open top ferment, and can Shipyard’s offerings.  Export will hit cans this month in Maine and then markets around the United States. This fall? Pumpkinhead in cans.

Shipyard also has plans for a second Florida location. The brewery already operates a nano brewery in Winter Park. [PressRelease]

Shipyard & Weyerbacher Already Shipping Pumpkin Offerings

You read that right. Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin and Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin are already hitting shelves.  Perfect for 100 degree weather right?

Weyerbacher has actually publicly address this in a recent tweet:

Shipyard’s Smashed Pumpkin is a 9%’er, part of the Pugley’s Signature Series, and available in 22oz bombers.  Weyerbacher’s Imperial Pumpkin is 8%, available in 12 oz bottles and draft with the new artwork seen below.  I guess the season starts early this year.

Fans Choose Citra For Next Sixpoint Autumnation Brew

Sixpoint recently ran a poll to see which hop its fans wanted to see in their fall seasonal.  Come this fall, Autumnation will be wet hopped (fresh hopped with just picked hops) with Citra hops.

Our Autumnal brew is made with subtle pumpkin and spice, but its prominent feature is the fresh harvested “wet-hops” that are added. New hop strain and selection every year.

Style: Pumpkin Beer
Availability: Cans, Draft.  Fall seasonal.
