Orpheus Over and Over, a new pineapple sour

Orpheus Over and Over

Orpheus Over and Over is joining the brewery’s year-round lineup in the near future.

Pineapple is the centerpiece of this new kettle-soured ale. The brewery added the fresh pineapple juice to the first batch this week. While Orpheus Over and Over is a reference to Greek prophet Orpheus, we’re pretty sure just “over and over” is how often you’ll want to drink this new release as well.

The grievous cycle of transmigration of souls could only be broken after the mysteries of the gods were revealed to Orpheus. Those mysteries have been lost to time, so enjoy your endless loop. We packed as much pineapple and brightness as we could into this small, tart beer, for an experience you’ll actually want to repeat over and over.

Orpheus Over and Over will debut in July on draft first, with 12 ounce cans to follow shortly after.

Style: Sour/Wild Ale (w/ Pineapple)
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.

Debut: July, 2017

This beer is all bout Hawaii. The Richmond, Virginia brewer used the Hawaiian sea salt, a necessary ingredient in gose as a part of the base beer. Not tropical enough for you? Next is hundreds of pounds of of passionfruit, pineapple, mango, blood orange, and cherry purée.

Pineappley SweetWater Goin’ Coastal is back. PERMANENTLY.

SweetWater Goin Coastal IPA can

Atlanta’s headiest brewery has dropped their hoppy pineapple offering once again. This time, it’s sticking around indefinitely. SweetWater Goin’ Coastal won’t be fading with the fall this year.

In case you haven’t tried a cocoction of this variety yet, pineapple works quite well with the citrusy/tropical hops of an American IPA. Especially since SweetWater is doing the hopping. This beer is heavy on the citrus and fruity hops, with a tropical breeze of pineapple. Find water and sit your ass in a tube and take stock of your life. The demand for this island breeze of a beer has prompted SweetWater to keep this beer in the lineup all year long.

Slide into summer and step off the grid by Goin’ Coastal with this pineapple laced IPA. The bright aromas of the five citrus hop additions are accentuated by the tropical fruit of the pineapple- and just like those three day weekends, its finish is quick.

SweetWater Goin’ Coastal will be a 12 ounce bottle and 16 ounce can offering. Back on shelves for a second season in March, 2017.

Style: IPA (w/ Pineapple)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, 12 oz Cans, Draft. Year-round.

Upland Latitude Adjustment, a winter escape beer

Upland Latitude Adjustment

Upland Latitude Adjustment provides a little escape from your typical winter seasonal release. Previously known as Beard of Paradise from the Upland Brewing’s Side Trail series, Latitude Adjustment is back as a seasonal release due to its popularity. This “winter escape” beer brings a tropical pale ale with pineapple and coconut into the season of malty winter favorites.

“Latitude Adjustment is intended to be a “winter escape” beer, a kind of brew that you might typically see as a summer seasonal, intended to give the drinker a psychological relief from the chill of winter by providing the impression of warmer climes. Those looking for a change from the malty winter brews will enjoy this complex and refreshing pale ale.” – Innovation Lead Matt Wisley.

Upland Brewing, based in Bloomington, Indiana, creates Latitude Adjustment by brewing with Mosaic hops and coconut. They then add pineapples near the end of fermentation.
