What pimp? Pimp is a brown ale that the two breweries did together. Clown Shoes is taking Pimp, and blending with Knob Creek Barrel Aged Blaecorn Unidragon.

Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione was eating pickles from Brooklyn Brine while drinking his 60 Minute IPA one day. The merging of the two flavors gave him an idea. The idea of a beer infused pickle collaboration. After round of beer sampling and hop research, Brooklyn Brine decided on Cascade hop oil. (Oils extracted from the hops leaves.) The pickle company is some pretty cool things with pickles, including barrel fermented pickles made in whiskey barrels.

This Saturday, Lost Abbey will will release their edition in San Marcos, California at 12 noon. Bottles are $7.99 a piece.

Positive Contact is a 9% ABV hybrid of beer and cider brewed with wood-pressed Fuji apples, roasted farro, a handful of cayenne peppers and fresh cilantro. Described as a “sweet-and-sour Belgian-ish brew”, light straw color with fruity, cider-like notes. Cayenne and alcohol give it a warming finish.

She is the name sake for a series of beers called “Reunion: A Beer For Hope.” MacLean was best friends Alan Shapiro of SBS Imports, who helped create the beer to honor Virginia, and raise money and awareness for the Institute for Myeloma and Bone Cancer Research.
The most recent release was brewed with Terrapin & Shmaltz Brewing. Another edition is planned or release later this year.

The beer is inspired by movie theater food. The beer is brewed with Florida sea salt, cacao nibs, vanilla beans and dry-roasted peanuts. Cigar City says expect this flavor when you’re drinking.
…peanut butter cups, milk duds, black licorice, chocolate-covered peanuts and salted caramel.
First available in Cigar City’s tap room on Thursday at 11 am. No growlers.
Russian River & Sierra Nevada are currently debuting a new collaboration – Brux . Brux (aka Brettanomyces bruxellensis) is so named for the yeast you’ll find in these bottles. The collab is brewed at Sierra Nevada (who doesn’t use much wild yeast at their facility.) Because the yeast will essentially “infect” the bottling line, and potentially the brewhouse, a special procedure was introduced to make this happen. Right before the beer was sealed, a small bit of brett was shot into the bottle. That way, the risk of having this unique yeast getting into other Sierra Nevada beers is reduced.
Brux is shipping through Sierra Nevada’s distribution network. Bottles have already started surfacing. Below, Brian Grossman and Russian River’s Vinnie Ciluruzo introduce this collaboration during Asheville Beer Week.
