Ecliptic Starburst IPA kicks off new can lineup

Portland, Oregon’s Ecliptic Brewing is releasing their first canned offering starting March 1st, after three years of brewing. Ecliptic Starburst IPA ships this week.

Owner and head brewer John Harris selected a counter pressure canning system from Codi Manufacturing out of Golden, Colorado, and selected Starburst to lead off the aluminum charge. The Sasquatch Agency created the can designs, keeping the brewery’s astronomical theme intact.

Starburst IPA features Amarillo, Azacca, Centennial, Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, backed up by 100% pale malt. The finished beer is full of citrus, fruit and pine.

“This next step for Ecliptic has been one that the entire team has stepped up and helped with,” said Harris.  “From making major changes in the brewhouse to design decisions for the cans, this process has been really exciting.” – Joe Harris, Owner/Co Founder

The borders of hell meet in Martin House Acheron

Martin House Acheron, the Fort Worth, Texas based brewery’s barrel-aged imperial stout, is now available in cans.

Does this beer look and sound a little death metal to you? Acheron in Ancient Greek means “River of Woe”, one of the rivers of Hades in Homer’s The Odyssey. In Dante’s Inferno, the Acheron river forms the border of Hell. Like we said… metal.

Martin House Acheron dark, burly, and boozy. The 12% alcohol by volume imperial stout is unblended, aged six months in whiskey barrels. The brewery finished it with a touch of brown sugar, balancing the bitterness and increasing the ABV.

…this 12% abv stout will satiate your sinuous desires for something bold, burly, boozy, and barbarous.

Martin House Acheron is available in 12 ounce cans, in 2-packs. Think of it as two extra ounces when compared to the traditional 22 ounce bomber.

Style: Imperial Stout (Brown Sugar. Barrel Aged. Whiskey.)
Hops: Columbus
Availability: 12oz Cans
Debut: Mid-February, 2017

12% ABV

Wicked Weed Lunatic Blonde is available in cans for the first time

Wicked Weed Lunatic Blonde, a Belgian-style blonde ale is now available in cans.

The Belgian-styles that have come out of the Asheville, North Carolina based brewery have started with Wicked Weed Lunatic Blonde. RELATED: Wicked Weed announces cans

“When we first talked about crafting Belgian beers for our portfolio, open fermentation was really important to us,” explains Walt Dickinson, owner and Head Blender, “We wanted to craft beers that felt like the Old World, but with a New World perspective. Lunatic Blonde has become the base that we build everything else off of because it’s the most straightforward beer and there’s nothing to hide behind. It’s all about yeast character and fermentation.”

Wicked Weed Lunatic Blonde is now available in 12 ounce cans, and draft. Available the week of Valentine’s Day at the brewery, distribution shortly after.

Style: Belgian-style Blonde Ale
Availability: 11.2oz Bottles, Draft. Year-round.

Anderson Valley GT Gose (aka Gin & Tonic Gose)

Anderson Valley GT Gose is headed to market, a new botanical gose.

Think of a gin & tonic cocktail when it comes to this new gose. The idea came about after a few in house discussions surrounding beer cocktails, and barrel-aged gins. The brewery used lemon peel, juniper berries, and lemongrass at the end of beer’s boil, adding botanical notes that gin boasts.

During fermentation, the brewery added cucumber, salt, and a touch of cinchona bark.

Reminiscent of a classic cocktail, our GT Gose showcases botanical flavors and aromas of lemon peel, juniper, lemongrass, and grains of paradise. With a juicy lemon-lime tartness and slightly peppery finish, we’ve given the gose style a unique spin that we’re sure you’ll enjoy.

Anderson Valley GT Gose is available in 12 ounce cans, and draft.

Style: Gose (w/ Lemon Peel, Juniper, Lemongrass, Grains of Paradise, Cucumber, Sea Salt, Cinchona Bark.)
Hops: Bravo
Malts: 2 Row, Cara-Crystal, Wheat

Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.
Debut: February, 2017

Orpheus Brewing Transmigration of Souls promoted to year-round

Orpheus Brewing Transmigration of Souls, first released in cans in 2015, is now year-round. The IPA is apart of the brewery’s Bone Tablet Series, and was originally the third canned offering.

Inspired by the Orphic bone tablets which explore the dichotomous nature of life and death, our Bone Tablet series reveals the many sides of the IPA. Transmigration of Souls is an irresponsibly hopped Double IPA, bursting with life from an absurd amount of aromatic hops. You’ll experience a bouquet of orange, lemon, and tropical fruit sitting on top of a clean, dry malt body.

Orpheus Transmigration of Souls joins Lyric Ale, and Atalanta, the brewery’s first three package offerings.

Style: Imperial IPA
Hops: Azacca, Lemon Zest, Apollo, Wakatu
Malts: Two row barley, white wheat

Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft. Year-Round
Initial Release (Cans): March, 2015
