In addition to Sixpoint Harbinger to look forward to in the coming weeks, be on the lookout for Resin.   It’s a big double IPA, with a host of American hops like Columbus, Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial, Cascade, Chinook.  The can is a 12oz “tallboy.”  Same height as 16oz’er but skinnier.  The brewery plans on releasing them in 4 packs in February.

Style: Imperial IPA
Availability: 12oz cans

9.1% ABV, 103 IBUs

Saison In A Can? That’s Sixpoint Harbinger

Saison in a can? Sixpoint Harbinger is and will be.   Here’s a litle Anne Finch poem to get you in a springy mood.

Exert thy voice, sweet harbinger of spring! This moment is thy time to sing… She begins, Let all be still!  Muse, they promise now fulfull! Like most movements, Spring begins underground.  Churning underneath the surface, you can almost fell the ground moving… it is a Harbinger of things to come.

Oskar Blues Hoppy Deviant In Tallboys

Oskar Blues Deviant Dales PaleOskar Blues (Lyon, CO) will be bringing Deviant Dale’s Pale Ale to 16oz tallboys in 2012.  This hopped up offering launched last January on tap at Colorado Old Chicago restaurants.  It was the first collaboration on a exclusive brew that was intended for OB’s tap rooms.

What’s Deviant Dale’s?

It’s a double edition fo the perennial favorite – Dales’s Pale Ale.  The brewery describes it as “a sensory assault for Hop Lovers.”   There are 4 hop editions during the hop process, and final massive dry hop of Columbus hops. Hops, hops and more hops.  Not just for tap handles anymore.  We’re talking tallboys baby!

Sly Fox Introducing O’Reilly’s In Cans

Sly Fox O'Reilly StoutSly Fox Beer’s (Royersford, PA) is introducing O’Reilly’s Stout in a nitrogen can.  (Assuming that is what they mean by “poured with nitrogen.)

An Irish-style Draft Stout poured with nitrogen for a creamy pint.  Brewed with imported Pale and British Roasted Barley and hopped with Cascade and East Kent Goldings.  Black in color, light bodied, and roasty dry.

Skull Coast Expanding And Canning

Skull Coast Brewing (Fort Mill, SC) is not only expanding but also planning to start canning.  Today, the brewery wired a deposit for a new 30bbl brewing system with 4 Fermenters, and a  brite tank.   In other big news for the small brewery – they will begin canning Maelstrom IPA, and Gallows Point Dead Mans Porter in 2012.  By the looks of it, 12oz cans are the skull of choice.

Sierra Nevada Pale CansSierra Nevada will release cans next year. There was a slight delay, pushing the beer release into February of 2012.  By the looks of it, the canning as started.  The picture above appeared via a closed beer forum on Facebook.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was/is going to be the first offering coming off the can line.  According to Sierra’s PR guy – Pale Ale is first in 12oz cans, followed by Torpedo 16oz tallboys.   Now, throw in some SweetWater IPA & 420 cans, and the pool next summer can’t get here fast enough.

Redhook Long Hammer Headed For Cans

Red Hook Longhammer CansRedhook Brewing will be bringing Longhammer IPA to cans.  This will be their second beer offered in cans, after Copperhook. 

The generous addition of hops both during and at the end of the fermentation process (dry-hopping) gives our India Pale Ale its characteristic bitterness and piney citrus aroma and flavor.  The medium body, crisp finish, and moderate alcohol and IBU levels makes this one of America’s most drinkable and best-selling IPAs.
