Atlanta’s Beer Camp Reps Make Sierra Nevada Rouge

Coming soon from Sierra Nevada is Rouge 66.  Atlanta AJC writer Bob Townsend & Green’s beer guru Adam Tolsma recently travelled to California to Sierra’s infamous Beer Camp to make this brew.   Beer Camp kegs are usually very limited (5-10 kegs total.)  There will be special tappings around Atlanta soon.  Check BeerStreetJournal.com/Atlanta for more info.

About Rouge:
The research and development team of pilot head brewer Scott Jennings and pilot brewer Mark Hurd guided our beer-making journey over a long day in and out of the brewhouse. We came up with a hybrid American/Belgian imperial red ale made with Patagonia caramel malt and a variety of hops, and fermented with a special Belgian yeast strain.

Style: Belgian ?
Availability: Draft only

7.5% ABV

More on the beer trip, read up at AJC Blogs.  Thx to @CFreddie for heads up

Cask: Left Hand 400 Pound Monkey. 1/5/12, 5 pm

Left Hand Brewing’s 400 lb Monkey will make a cask appearance at Taco Mac’s new location East Roswell.  Cask taps at 5 pm.

We use hops of a different color, earthy and herbal, well-balanced by bready malt. The result? An English-style IPA that separates itself from the ubiquitous bunch. Cartloads of bitter monkeys flinging wasteful amounts of bananas into the jungle . . .we’re so done with that.

Style: English IPA
Hops: Magnum, Boadicea, Soverign
Malts:  Pale 2-Row, Crystal, Munich, Malted Wheat

 6.8% ABV
