You “foodies” need to know what the “Philly Taco” actually is. In Philadelphia food terms, the Philly Taco is a Jim’s South Street Philly, wrapped in a steak inside a slice of Lorenzo & Sons’ pizza (according to legend of where this gut bomb got started). Or at least some fat ass inducing combination of such.
Perennial/Cigar City Philly Taco will be 7% ABV.

On Thursday April 2nd, Yazoo Brewing’s Embrace the Funk division will release three wild/sour offerings. Among those is the second release of Deux Rouges.
Deux Rouges (Batch 2) – Brewed in late 2013 this Flanders Red style evolved for over a year with wild yeasts and souring bacteria in Merlot wine barrels. This marriage of funky red beer and red wine creates a wonderful array of dark fruits, oak, vanilla and tartness. This is the base beer used in our Great American Beer Festival award winning “Cherry Deux Rouges”. Limit 4 bottles per person $20 each (750ml).
Delicieux – Historically the Belgian Pale Ale style was a “session” or “everyday” beer for the areas around Antwerp, Belgium. Our version of this Pale Ale is fermented with a classic Belgian yeast and two Brettanomyces strains from the Senne Valley in Belgium. Upfront subtle maltiness and spicy/peppery aromas from a generous Styrian Golding dry hop addition, lead to a hoppy dry delicate funky finish. Delicious! This ever-changing beer will age well. No limit on bottles (12oz) at $4 per bottle.
Funky Blue Persuasion – This is a 100% wine barrel fermented golden sour ale that aged with souring bacterias and wild yeasts. Then we added over 2 pounds of Blueberries per gallon along with a fresh dose of funky Brettanomyces for a secondary fermentation. Right now this deep dark blue colored ale is bursting with a pleasing balance of blueberry, lemon citrusy sourness and funky Brett character. Make sure you don’t drink this one too cold, the character will come alive as it warms. With age the fruit will fade and the beer will increase in sour/funkiness. This is a single barrel batch, so we have to put a limit of 1 bottle per person at $25 each (750ml).
All three bottles will be available in the tap room in Nashville, Tennessee starting at 4 pm on Thursday, April 2nd.
On May 3rd, 2015, the brewery will hold another Embrace the Funk Sour Festival.

Avery Fortuna, the 28th iteration of their Barrel Aged Series, sounds a bit like a margarita.
The American wild/sour ale is aged in tequila barrels with lime zest and salt. The tequila barrels were provided by Suerte Tequila, based in Boulder, Colorado.
As luck would have it, our amigos at Suerte dig our brews as much as we do our tequila. They graciously provided their finest barrels. We filled them and created sour, salty, and citric awesomeness.
Avery Fortuna is estimated to be bottled in May, 2015, available in 12oz bottles.
Style: American Wild/Sour Ale (w/ Limes. Salt. Barrel Aged. Tequila.)

Not too long ago, Allagash Brewing (Portland, ME) and Russian River Brewing (Santa Rosa, CA) created a very special collaboration with world renown Belgian brewery, Brasserie Cantillon.
Wild Friendship Blend, born in Belgium, is a three way blend of 3 year old Cantillon Lambic, 2 1/2 year old Allagash Coolship, and 2 year old Russian River Sonambic.
Sure to be a very limited release, is Allagash’s version of Wild Friendship Blend, brewed/blended again with beer from Cantillon and Russian River. All the breweries agreed that this special collaboration would only be poured at special events.
On Saturday, May 9, 2015, Allagash will host Wild Friendship Celebration, where Wild Friendship Blend will finally be served. Attendees of the Wild Friendship Celebration will get to taste this small-batch brew of which only 1500 bottles were produced. No bottles will be sold. Additionally, three other rare beers from each brewery will be offered.
Brewery founders Jean Van Roy (Cantillon), Vinnie Cilurzo (Russian River), and Rob Tod (Allagash) will all be in attendance. “Full Plates Full Potential,” an initiative to end childhood hunger in Maine, will receive a portion of the proceeds from the Wild Friendship Celebration.
