Indianapolis, Indiana’s Sun King Brewery will start distributing to Chicago, Illinois in August. The brewery has signed a distribution deal with Lakeshore Beverage.
Thanks to Sun King’s $2 million dollar expansion to their downtown Indy production facility, has helped the brewery no only meet the demands of their home state, but look beyond their borders. Seeing the fan demand in Chicago, the Windy City is the next logical step.
“For the past eight years, Sun King has been making great beer with the goal of becoming Indiana’s beer. We haven’t sold our beer outside of the state due to constraints caused by our own capacity and restrictions that were in place because of antiquated state laws. Having worked to increase Indiana’s barrelage limitations and increase Sun King’s capacity to make more beer, we’re now in a position to not only meet the demands of Hoosiers throughout the state, but are also to share our beer in other markets where craft beer enthusiasts want to enjoy it.Chicago is one of those places, and we’re excited to begin distributing there in August.” – Clay Robinson, co-owner of Sun King Brewery.
Chicago can expect Sunlight Cream Ale, Wee Mac Scottish Ale, Osiris Pale Ale, seasonal beers like Pachanga, Fistful of Hops, Oktoberfest a rotating IPA series, and the brewery’s Reserve beers starting in August.
Sun King Brewery opened their doors in 2009.
