Starbucks is test marketing a new flavor of latte in some of their stores – Dark Barrel Latte. The coffee drink is supposed to mimic the flavor of beer.
Dark Barrel Latte features a proprietary syrup that makes the latte taste like dry Irish stout, Guinness. (According to those Beer Street Journal spoke with that have tried the drink.)
Dark Barrel Latte is topped off with a dark caramel syrup and whipped cream.
Despite some Starbucks locations selling beer and wine, Starbucks Dark Barrel Latte is alcohol free.
