Shiner Homespun Cream Ale on deck in Texas

Shiner Homespun Cream Ale

Shiner Homespun Cream Ale is on deck from the oldest brewery in Texas. (Founded 1909 for the trivia buffs.)

The cream ale style has been part of U.S. brewing culture for going on a century now. While it’s called ale, it crosses a bit into the lager world as well. The pale/light ale is created using a warm fermentation (top or bottom fermenting yeast) and cold lagering. Some brewers will finish or condition it with lager yeast.

Shiner Homespun Cream Ale touts the use of wheat malt in the recipe to add a bit of creaminess to the mouthfeel.

Our Cream Ale is inspired by classic American recipes and homespun in Shiner, TX. It’s brewed with an extra helping of specialty wheat malt to give it a velvety smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Pale gold in color, Homespun is a sessional go-to brew with a crisp, refreshing finish. so pop one open and join us in celebrating American brewing tradition… with a dash of southern hospitality from Shiner, Texas.
