Russian River’s Pliny the Elder Will Get Some Outside Help (Temporarily)

The current system Russian River has been brewing on since 2008 is wearing out. The brewery has purchased a new system (same size), that should be on the ground in Santa Rosa in February, 2015.

In order to not have any lapse in their highly sought after Pliny the Elder shipments, the beer will temporarily be brewed at Firestone Walker in Paso Robles, California. Pliny kegs will briefly come from Firestone Walker, while bottles will still be produced out of the current facility (from current fermenter inventory.) Russian River founders Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo will be on hand at Firestone to insure flavor continuity.

To correct the earlier article, Russian River will not be expanding but swapping out for a new brewhouse. During which time, Firestone Walker will help easy the brewing tension while the equipment is being swapped out.

Ed Note: This article was corrected from earlier mention of Russian River expanding capacity. I personally misinterpreted the statement of equipment swaps, etc. Apologies for the error.
