As we traverse deeper into 2011, the release dates of breweries bigger/popular releases announced. The Lost Abbey’s beers are all quite notable for sure, but this one is a stand out. It’s Red Poppy, a Flanders-style Red Ale brewed with red cherries, aged on French oak. All of that adds up to a beer with a big fan that comes highly recommended.
Lost Abbey has announced Red Poppy’s release date for 2011 – February 12th. The beer is slated for brewery release in San Marcos, CA from noon – 6pm. Bottles will be $15 dollars, 6 bottle max. After the release, the beers will go into Lost Abbey’s distribution network on an extremely limited basis. Tomme Arthur mentioned that the sour beers (like Red Poppy) will be hit or miss for Georgia/Pennsylvania and other markets further away from the home state. Be on the lookout.
Style: Flanders Oud Bruin
Availability: 375 ML, Corked & Caged. Draft limited to San Diego area, California.
Wow, $15 for a .375ml bottle? That’s $84 for a six-pack equivalent. I don’t think that quite meets KP’s dollar per ounce limits… 🙂
No, it doesn’t lol. BUT! If it’s good and you’re willing to drop the duckets, drink up! I’m not looking down on you!!
