By 8:30am on Saturday March 9th 2013 the line in front of Cigar City Brewing was already a quarter of a mile long. It is estimated that over the course of the day approximately 8,000-10,000 people attended the most prominent event of Tampa Bay Beer Week – the chance to purchase a coveted bottle of Hunahpu. Each attendee was limited to purchasing 3 bottles max at $20 each and only 10,000 bottles were available to purchase. Years ago this event barely drew a hundred people, but with the growing popularity of the brew and craft beer industry as a whole the growth as been exponential.
