Charlie Papazian (President of The Brewer’s Association) and Gary Glass (Director, American Homebrewers Association) ask your assistance to help Alabama legalize homebrewing.
Dear Alabama AHA, BA and Support Your Local Brewery Members,
Please help legalize homebrewing in Alabama!
The American Homebrewers Association is working with a group of homebrewers in Alabama to legalize homebrewing in the state.
The Senate Job Creation and Economic Development Committee passed House Bill 354 favorably on Tuesday, May 8, after the bill was reassigned from the Small Business Committee. The bill now must be voted on by the full Senate in order to go to the Governor for signing. The Senate has just three days of this session in which the bill can be heard. If it is not brought to a vote, it will die with the end of this year’s legislative session.
How Can You Help?
Please call the Senator’s office for your district and leave a message with his or her assistant politely asking the Senator to pass HB354 to legalize Homebrewing this session. Given the time constraints, a phone call during business hours is the safest way to ensure your voice is heard in time. Opponents of the bill have already started their phone calls, so we must overwhelm their numbers.
Thank you for your support of homebrewers. Your action will make the difference in whether or not this legislation becomes law. Please forward this message on to any other Alabama residents/businesses that you feel would be interested in supporting this bill.
Sincerely,
Charlie Papazian President Brewers Association |
Gary Glass Director American Homebrewers Association |
