First Run Of Oxford Companion To Beer Sells Out

Garrett Oliver’s newest book – The Oxford Companion To Beer has been been met with great success.  The first run has sold out.  The Oxford Companion books are series of definitive texts on topics such as literature, food, wine & more.

From Brooklyn:

The Companion has already sold out of its first run, and distributors and brewers have certainly snagged their share. Garrett says some wholesalers bought 400 at a time, likely for the same reason they’re all investing in the Cicerone program: to keep up with the consumer, and continue to drive sales through education.

It reads like a dictionary, defining everything from beer, to beer styles.  It’s thick, a full 940 pages covering over 1000 beer subjects by 160 subject experts.  Suggested retail price: $65.

Brooklyn released a companion beer to The Companion – called The Companion.  (Redundant)  It’s a wheat wine joining the Brewmaster’s Reserve Series.
