Cigar City Brewing (Tampa, FL) has two bottled guava offerings – Guava Grove and Guava Groove.
This new guava offering is the result of three distinct fermentations. The first round of fermentation is with lactobacillus, a souring bacteria. Round two features a French saison yeast. Round three sees the addition of a fruit quite favored and local to Tampa- the guava.
Could you call this beer, sour guava funk ale? Sure. Either way, it’s a beer you’ll want.
