BSJ Video: Fullsteam Creates Rare Offering For Festivals

Fullsteam Brewery (Durham, NC) brewed a special beer in December for the sold out Raleigh Rare Beer Tasting and 2013 Brewvival in Charleston, South Carolina. The beer? A “Kentucky Common” brewed with all local grain, including rye and corn. A sour mash was used to brew the common, meaning they soaked the fermentables out of the grain and allowed in to sit for a couple of days to sour. Mimicked (loosely) the same way one would make sour mash whiskey. If you attend either festival, don’t miss this brew.

Style: Kentucky Common
Availability: Draft only. Festival bound

7% ABV

BSJ Video: Green Man’s Owner on Brewery Expansion

Green Man Brewing (Asheville, NC) just completed a brand spanking new brewhouse. The 30 barrel brewhouse is going to allow Green Man to reach beyond Asheville to other southern cities. (Atlanta is heavily rumored…) As a part of the expansion, a bottling has been purchased, allowing the brewery to release 12oz/6 packs in the future.

Green Man started as a brewpub in 1997 and has consistently evolved since. A series of wild ales were released in 750ml bottles in 2012.
