It’s Oskar Blues Death by Coconut season again

Oskar Blues Death by Coconut has been canned and is headed to shelves again soon. At one point it was only sold at the taprooms in Colorado and North Carolina. Now it’s a national hit.

Oskar Blues Death By Coconut was first introduced during Colorado Craft Beer Week in March of 2014. The beer is a collaboration with Oskar Blue’s Jason Buehler, and Shamrock Brewing Co.’s Keith Hefley. The base beer is an Irish porter, aged on dried coconut and dark chocolate.

IF YOU CRAVE COCONUT BEER, IT’S HERE. We’re talking creamy coconut flavors, that finish with a touch of dark chocolate. Oskar Blues Death By Coconut tastes like an alcoholic Almond Joy candy bar. Everything from the smell to the taste is over the top, and we love every last drop we can get. As fall rolls in, so do the coconuts by Oskar. This is your annual heads up.

Oskar Blues Death By Coconut is available in 12-ounce cans, and draft nationally for a limited time.

Style: Porter (w/ Coconut, Dark Chocolate)
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.
Latest Return: Late September 2018

Himalayan inspired Great Divide Chai Yeti makes another fall appearance

Great Divide Chai Yeti a new variation on the brewery’s widely popular imperial stout is returning for another fall.

“Yeti” is synonymous in the beer world with a big, highly rated imperial stout. Variants include Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti, Espresso Yeti, Oak Aged Yeti, and Oatmeal Yeti. Last fall, the brewery released Velvet Yeti, a nitrogen infused edition. Now, Yeti is spending some time with a few exotic spices.

Great Divide Chai Yeti is brewed with a plethora of chai spices, including cinnamon, green cardamom, black pepper, ginger, nutmeg, and vanilla. The brewery states this beer is a nod to Yeti’s home region of the Himalayas.

Our beloved Yeti is going back to its roots with this Himalayan-inspired variation. Traditional Chai spices of cinnamon, green cardamom, black pepper, ginger, nutmeg, and vanilla blend seemlessly with Yeti’s rich, roasted malt backbone for a spicy beast fit to tackle Everest.

Great Divide Chai Yeti is a 22-ounce bottle and draft release, available now through December 2018.

Style: Imperial Stout (Cinnamon. Green Cardamom. Black Pepper. Ginger. Nutmeg. Vanilla.)
Availability: 22oz Bottles, Draft
Debut: October 2017
Latest Return: Late September 2018

Allagash FV 13 (foudre aged wild ale) resurfaces this weekend

Allagash FV 13 returns to the brewery once again this weekend.

A Belgian-style golden ale is the base for Allagash FV 13. The beer is fermented in stainless steel with the brewery’s epic house yeast, then transferred to a 2,700-gallon French oak foudre (exactly like the one on the label).

What is even more unique about FV 13, is that a portion of the previous batch of this beer is used to inoculate (ferment) the new edition. A little bit of the old makes the new.

This year’s beer features an aroma with notes of graham cracker, lime zest, and vanilla. The flavor blends sweet and tart with notes of grapefruit and raspberry, and finishes with a cleansing bitterness.

Allagash FV 13 is a 375ml bottle release. Each release takes four years to brew, ferment and condition before public release.

Style: American Wild Ale (w/ White Cane SugarOak Aged)
Hops: Tettnang, Hallertau

Availability: 12.7 oz bottles
Latest Return: September 2018

8.8% ABV

Pumpkin pie soaked in rum. Avery’s massive ‘Rumpkin’ returns

One of the biggest pumpkin beers out there, Avery Rumpkin has returned again ahead of fall 2018.

“A pumpkin pie soaked in rum.” That was the general idea when creating the Avery Rumpkin recipe. Besides pumpkin, Avery Rumpkin is brewed with nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and cinnamon, then aged in rum barrels.

Rum barrels have been a big leaking issue for Avery in the past. If a barrel leaks, you beer killing oxygen getting in, or other off-flavors introduced into the beer. Over the past 7 years, the brewery has lost between 30% & 40% of the batches. To fix this issue, the brewery has flown in professional coopers in the past from France to restore the rum barrels before Rumpkin rested in the wood.

The 2018 edition of Avery Rumpkin debuts on August 20th.

Style: Pumpkin Beer (Nutmeg. Allspice. Ginger. Cinnamon. Barrel Aged. Rum.)
Availability: 12oz bottles
Latest Return: August 2018

16.9% ABV

Monday Night Dust Bunny a juicy, hazy India pale ale is back this weekend.

Now is the only time you’ll get Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter this year

Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter, the bigger, boozier version of the brewery’s pale ale returns today for the only time this year.

As the name suggests, Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter is a bigger version of the brewery’s Daisy Cutter with fewer boundaries. It carries all the big citrus and grassy notes of the year-round pale ale, but with more hops and an amplified malt presence.

Usually brewed quarterly, Double Daisy Cutter is a Chicago favorite.

A monster version of the original Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. A heftier grain bill amps up the weight and double dry hopping insures there’s enough grit to recede your gums.

Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter was first brewed in 2010. Since then, it appears a few times a year. Available in 16-ounce 4-pack cans.

Style: Imperial IPA
Availability: 16oz Cans, Draft.
Distribution: IL, WI, Philadelphia, NYC
