The brew, produced in Athens, will not ship outside the state. A little reward for those in the Peach State, or those visiting. The beer is brewed year round. FYI: It used to be called Terrapin Cream Ale.
Style: Cream Ale
Hops: Cascade, Mt. Hood
Malts: 2 Row Pale, Munich, Vienna, Malted Wheat, Flaked Barley
Availability: 12oz bottles, Year Round
5.3% ABV, 21 IBUs
In 2010, divers in the Baltic Sea discovered a 200 year old shipwreck at the bottom. Within the shipwreck divers found what is considered one of the oldest existing beers in the world. After being brought to the surface, the beer was taken to a lab to analyze.
Best bet the beer was a pale ale, brewery unknown. Lab tests will help determine the constituents so a Finnish microbrewery Stallhagen can recreate the beer. A portion of the proceeds will go to marine archeological research.
