In 2010, divers in the Baltic Sea discovered a 200 year old shipwreck at the bottom. Within the shipwreck divers found what is considered one of the oldest existing beers in the world. After being brought to the surface, the beer was taken to a lab to analyze.
Best bet the beer was a pale ale, brewery unknown. Lab tests will help determine the constituents so a Finnish microbrewery Stallhagen can recreate the beer. A portion of the proceeds will go to marine archeological research.
