Woodchuck Cider Plants 7,311 Trees

The Woodchuck Earth Week 2013 Campaign has just come to an end.Thanks to the efforts of the partnership, American Forests® will plant 7,311 trees on behalf of Woodchuck Hard Cider and the cider drinking fan base. That equates to 21 football fields of fresh forest. In addition, Woodchuck will donate $7,311 to the Vermont Tree Fruit Growers Association.

This is year #4 of the partnership, and thanks to the hard work – 42,033 trees have been planted in areas devastated by natural disaster around the country.  ew fans and 552 e-newsletter sign-ups.

Bud Light Delivers 1,100 Cases of Beer to Heat Forward

In case you don’t follow basketball, the Miami Heat had an amazing 27-game winning streak earlier this season. Heat forward Shane Battier told NBA.com that he’s pretty superstitious. In addition to a plethora of superstitions, the basketball star said he drinks only one beer during the streak – Bud Light.

Nope,” Battier said. “Well, I try to drink the same beer — Bud Light — but that’s about it. You never know. I don’t want to chance luck and switch up brands, so I’m staying loyal to Bud Light.”

Shane was delivered a whole truck load of Bud Light, some 1,100 cases of it by the brewery. By our estimates, that’s over 13,000 bottles of beer. Queue the party montage…

A new beer from Amagaer Bryghus dubbed “Lust” that depicts a naked woman in a bathtub has been deemed too racy for Systembolaget, the state-run liquor store. The racy label apparently violates Swedish alcohol etiquette.

In order to get the beer sold, the Amager had to black out the label (the girl seen above) completely. That wasn’t the only change either. The description of how the beer was brewed, was too racy too:

This strong Belgian ale is so rich, so sweet and so luscious, that we wouldn’t hesitate calling it pure lust in a bottle. During the making of this beer the general mood in the brewhouse turned somewhat sensual if not downright erotic! And everybody involved In the brewing spontaneously engaged in heavy cheek kiss-ing. if it wasn’t for the unexpected ring of the doorbell things could have gone even further… This beer is so lustful that we cannot vouch for the consequences if you serve this to your loved one over a candlelight dinner. This may very well result In a lifelong payment of child support We have lrewed a beer with the most sensual of sugars we could find at our local grocery store. We were tempted to spice it up with well-renowned aphrodisi-acs Ike Spanish fly or oysters, but frankly we didn’t see the need for it.

Apparently making an allusion that drinking can get you women will get your beer pulled from shelves.

Rare Beers SweetWater’s Experience [VIDEO]

SweetWater Brewing Company is currently hosting the 9th edition of their 420 Fest. The music and beer festival spans three days, and is about as much fun as you can have (for free!) in a park in the Spring. New this year is the SweetWater Experience, a behind the scenes look at the brewery from grain to glass.

Head brewer Nick Nock got the chance to really experiment and play around with this lineup for the this event. The tent features 24 different beers, mostly one-offs. The most SweetWater has ever had in one place in their 16 year history.
