Upslope releases Oktoberfest Lager, plus fest party

Boulder, Colorado’s Upslope Brewing has released Oktoberfest Lager, in time for fest season. 

This brand new limited release, is described by the brewery as a “modern, malt-forward brew,” featuring Leopold Bros Floor-Malted Pilsner. 

A sweet, fresh-baked bread nose is followed by light herbaceous hop character and a smooth finish.

In addition to the new beer, the brewery is hosting an Octoberfest at their Flatiron location. The event features the Oktoberfest beer, brats, a stein-hoisting contest and more.

Upslope Tequila Barrel Aged Quadrupel releases July 27th

Upslope Tequila Barrel Aged Quad joins the Boulder, Colorado based brewery’s Lee Hill Series on July 27th.

This 13th volume of Lee Hill is a Belgian-style quadrupel that spent six months in Dulce Vida Tequila barrels.

Layered notes of caramelized banana, mulled clove and floral tequila give way to a spicy oak character and a warming finish to round out this classic Belgian Style Quadrupel.

The series is named for the original North Boulder brewery.

Upslope Tequila Barrel Aged Quad is available at the brewery in 19.2-ounce cans, $10 dollars each.

Drink in a big blast of citrus in new Upslope Experimental IPA 2017

Upslope Experimental IPA 2017 is now available, featuring some of America’s hottest hops right now.

For us, if you say the worlds Mosaic, Idaho 7, or Lemondrop, you have our attention. That’s exactly the hop lineup in this year’s inaugural Experimental IPA. Available now through May, the brewery is offering up an mouthful of peach, tangerine, papaya and lemon, 12 ounces at a time. This IPA is bright, just like a sunny spring day.

You might say – “Wait, I’ve seen those hops all over the place. Why is this “experimental”? That depends on a few things. Hops like Mosaic and Idaho 7 are in especially high demand – and expensive. The release of Upslope Experimental IPA 2017 affords the brewers an chance to play with newer varieties and see what you – the drinking public like. If you do as much as we do, you’ll probably see it again. Hops are expensive and let’s face it. There are ton of IPAs out there. If you release a new one, it better be good.

Pale Ale out, Upslope Citra Pale Ale called up

Upslope Citra Pale Ale has been tapped as the next year round beer by the Boulder, Colorado based brewery.

Eight years ago, the Boulder, Colorado based brewery introduced their very first beer – Pale Ale. As time as passed, the brewery’s fans have come to love  Upslope Citra Pale Ale just a little bit more than the flagship. It’s time for a change.

This week, the brewery canned Citra Pale for the first time, headed out to all of the brewery’s markets soon.

“The decision to retire the one that started it all and introduce a new style to our lineup in its place comes from our dedication to experimentation and creativity.” – Upslope Founder, Matt Cutter.

Upslope Christmas Ale 2016

Upslope Christmas Ale once again. The festively “wrapped” 16oz cans are headed back to shelves.

Upslope Christmas Ale is a Belgian-style dubbel, one a homebrew recipe that brewery founder Matt Cutter took to Christmas parties. Brewed with an Abbey Ale yeast and blend of seasonal spices.

In true Christmas fashion, the beer pours deep ruby red with an off-white headstand that laces the glass with each sip. A blend of holiday spices and dark dried fruit creates a distinctive holiday aroma that is complemented by spicy notes from the Abbey Ale Yeast. The rich malt flavor of this medium bodied, 8.2% abv ale will be sure to keep you warm through the holiday season..

Upslope Christmas Ale is available in 16 ounce cans, seasonally.

Upslope Mosaic IPA. The reason we love this hop so much.

Upslope Mosaic IPA is the latest edition in the brewery’s ongoing Tap Room Series. Perfect for a day like today. (IPA Day.)

The Tap Room Series spans all styles, basically at the whim of the brewing team. Being middle of the summer, we are willing to bet a single hopped India pale ale was an easy choice. This release features Mosaic hops – a hop in high demand these days. With good reason. By now you have to be pretty familiar with Mosaic hops – a recent runaway star in the aroma hop game. They smell of tropical fruit, and have a “mosaic” of citrus flavors, even a bit piney.

Upslope Mosaic IPA rocks all that and more. While this 19.2 ounce can of hop love is only available in the Upslope taprooms, we cast our vote for making this at least a seasonal.

Upslope Dry Hopped Wild Ale is the 8th entry in the brewery’s ongoing Lee Hill Series.

This edition is a sour blonde ale, that has been aging in neutral oak. Neutral oak has lost most, if not all it’s ability to import oak flavors or flavors from anything that has previously aged in it.

The brewery really shows some versatility with this release. Upslope has made a name for themselves by brewing great beers to style. (Their Brown Ale just won awards.) We still wholeheartedly believe that if you can brew a solid IPA, pale ale, or brown ale, you can brew anything. Upslope Dry Hopped Wild Ale is exactly that example.

Upslope Dry Hopped Wild Ale is the 8th edition in the Lee Hill Series. Available in 19.2 ounce cans in a very limited release run.
