Pabst Blue Ribbon launches 100 calorie ‘Hard Tea’

Pabst Blue Ribbon has been synonymous with lager for decades. These days, Pabst is doing so much more. 2019’s biggest additions to the Pabst Blue Ribbon lineup weren’t beer at all. Specifially, a PBR branded whiskey, an 8% alcohol by volume Stronger Seltzer, and a Hard Coffee. 2020’s newest addition – Pabst Blue Ribbon Hard Tea.

This new summer-inspired alcoholic sweet tea is brewed with tea leaves and natural peach flavor. Each can of Hard Tea has 3 grams of sugar, 100 calories, and just 4% alcohol by volume.

Pabst Blue Ribbon’s Hard Tea is deliciously effervescent with a natural peach flavor,  it’s a uniquely Pabstidian evolution of the seltzer market, and a perfect alternative to artificial and over-sweetened products

Creature Comforts Automatic Pale promoted to year-round

Creature Comforts Automatic Pale Ale has been bumped up to year-round status as of this month.

Automatic’ is a hop-forward pale ale, brewed with Mosaic and Crystal hops. If you love that “dank” hop smell and flavor, you will love this beer. Automatic is pale ale on steroids.

“Automatic is meant to be light, refreshing and quite drinkable without falling into the common pitfall of ending up too thin, watery or insipid. No color malts were used, however, the relatively full mouthfeel is enough to support this heavily hopped beer,” said Co-Founder and Brewmaster Adam Beauchamp.”

Local Athens artist Michelle Fontaine created the label for Creature Comforts Automatic Pale Ale. Fontaine took inspiration from 1950’s pop culture as well as the 1940’s Chevy dealership that once occupied the brewery’s building.

You might recognize the phrase “Automatic for the People” emblazoned on the can, especially if you are a REM fan. The album name was derived from legendary Athens, Georgia eatery, Weaver D’s. The southern, soul food eatery is a city staple.

Creature Comforts Automatic Pale Ale is already available on draft at the brewery in Athens.

Style: Pale Ale
Hops: Mosaic, Crystal

Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft. Year-round.

Hi-Wire Brewing releases an online-only blueberry wild ale blend

Like many of the breweries right now, Asheville’s Hi-Wire Brewing has been relying on online sales and relaxed shipping restrictions to make ends meet. Instead of a taproom release of a rare wild ale, these weird times call for an online-only beer release.

Hi-Wire’s sour and wild program continues to impress us. So it’s worth noting there are a small handful of bottles available of this new blend that you don’t even have to get off your couch to buy and try.

A Blend About Blueberries Sour – Single Barrel Batch No. 27 is a blend of spontaneous and non-spontaneous sour blonde ales aged on blueberries. 750-milliliter bottles this blend can be purchased here. You’re stuck at home. Treat yourself.

Style: American Wild/Sour Ale (w/ Blueberries)
