Why Lagunitas Still Sucks

Lagunitas Still SucksSo this season, Brown Shugga’couldn’t be made by Lagunitas Brewing.  They weren’t happy about it at all, but DID make Lagunitas Sucks – an IPA attempting to smooth over hurt feelings.  As it turns out, Sucks has been quite popular.  Ok, so it’s no Shugga’ but a tasty substitute.

Remember when I mentioned you’ll see it again?  If you missed your shot at this tasty second stringer, you’ll get you’re shot with Lagunitas Sucks Holiday Leftover Ale. Here’s some good bad or bad good news.  It’s taking the place of Big Hairy Eyeball.  Recently, Lagunita’s new brewhouse ate it en route to Petaluma.  The delay has set production back even more.  So, more Sucks, less Balls. err.. Eyeballs. Hairy ones.

Big Hairy Eyeball will return in 2013.   Some beer is better than no beer right?

Lagunitas Still Sucks. The Leftovers

Lagunitas Sucks Holiday AleNot 100% confirmed. In the absence of Brown Shugga this year, Lagunitas has created Sucks Holiday Ale.  Apparently there will be another label for the same beer, dubbed Lagunitas Still Sucks. The Leftovers.  The beer won’t change, just a label tweak.  More fun at their own expense.  Not sure when we will see this label yet.

In other Lagunitas news, Fusion 8 is on the way.  Style yet to be announced.

Who Needs A Bar Key When You Can Wield This Badboy?

Why just open a bottle when you can look cool doing it.  The Lagunitas butterfly bottle opener makes twirling a bar key on your finger so last year.  I’m really, it looks like  a freaking butterfly knife.  These babies are $15 dollars online [Lagunitas]

Lagunitas Sucks. Merry Christmas.

Lagunitas can’t make Brown Shugga this year.  The beer is expensive to produce, and when you factor in the time it takes to make the beer over the loss in production – the brewery just couldn’t pull it off this year.

To have at least SOMETHING to look forward to from Petaluma, the brewery is offering you this – Lagunitas Sucks Holiday Ale Brown Shugga’ Substitute.   Sucks is officially arriving at retailers, making hopefully making up their over sight to your tastebuds.

Label:
This sad holiday season we didn’t have the brewing capacity to make our favorite seasonal brew, the widely feared Brown Shugga’ Ale. We’re just out of capacity.  There is nothing cool about screwing up this badly and we know it.

Style: IPA
Taste Expectations: Piney, floral, tropical hop notes.  Full malt background.  Piney like a Christmas tree?
Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft
7.6% ABV
