A newbie from Dogfish Head (Milton, DE) –  L’Interimaire. A saison brewed with honey, Belgian candy sugar and Verjous Rouge. Verjous Rouge (pronounced vair-ZHOO) is the tart, fresh juice of unripe wine grapes. Typically used for sauce making for flavoring meats.

Dogfish Head/Sierra Nevada Rhizing Bines Bottled

The second Dogfish Head/Sierra Nevada Life & Limb release Rhizing Bines has just been bottled. Expect it to hit Dogfish Head’s pub & brewery on February 6th. The remaining 27 states can expect to arrive throughout February. The imperial IPA (really? Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada make IPAs???) features new hop that has no official name – Hop 644. Bines is a featured beer in the A Hop Eclipse Now dinners, celebrating hop love. Dinners will debut around the country soon.

Look for it on taps and in 750 ml bottles (seen above) and draft for a limited time.

Dogfish Head Brainstorms New Ancient Ale

Beer and history collide in Dogfish Head Brewery’s (Milton, DE) Ancient Ale Series. Your glass has seen beers with a host of unique ingredients ranging from Middle Eastern herbs, to South American Chilies and everything in between. How often does your brew require a trip to Italy and guidance from an archeologist? Dogfish Head’s most recent “Ancient” release  Birra Etrusca Bronze certainly did.

For those drinkers always looking ahead, brewery founder Sam Calagione is already cooking up a new Ancient Ale that you should be tasting before the end of the year. Above: the brainstorming session.

Dogfish Head’s Wine/Beer Hybrid Noble Rot Returns

Dogfish Head’s elusive beer/wine hybrid is making a comeback! Noble Rot, their saison-esque beer made with two different varieties of unfermented wine grape juice has been sent to wholesalers today.

“This is the absolute closest to equal meshing of the wine world and the beer world thats ever been done commercially,” says Dogfish’s Sam Calagione.

Dogfish Head Invites You to Suggest the Final Ingredient [VIDEO]

For Dogfish Head’s latest collaborative beer, this time with Grateful Dead, they invite you to help suggest the final ingredient. “American Beauty” will be a strong pale ale with all-American hops and barley. Here’s where you come in–Dogfish Head and Grateful Dead are asking loyal fans to suggest a special ingredient–and the Dead-inspired story behind it. “Did you trade a bushel of fresh clementines for tickets to a two-night stand at Long Beach Arena? Or maybe your dad first laid eyes on your mom sipping a cup of green tea in the parking lot of the legendary Cornell ’77 show?”
