Creature Comforts Curious 6 joins lineup April 30th

Creature Comforts Curious 6 will be available to-go during a special tour on April 30th, 2016.

This sixth edition in the Curious Series starts as another one of the brewery’s very popular releases – Emergence, that has aged on Georgia peaches. In case you are’t familiar, Emergence is an American wild ale, fermented with the brewery’s house mixed culture yeast strain, aged in wine barrels.

Creature Comforts collaborated with Fort Valley, Georgia based Pearson Farms for Curious 6, selecting fresh peaches at the perfect time in order for the fruit to really pop in this beer.

“When drinking The Curious No. 6 you can expect the aroma to be as if you’ve sunk your teeth into the best peach you’ve ever had,” said Head Brewer and Co-Founder David Stein.

Above, brewmaster Adam Beauchamp pours Beer Street Journal a preview taste of this upcoming release. The peaches really do shine in this edition. Honestly, while you could very much cellar a wild ale, maybe considering drinking this one sooner rather than later. Keep those fresh peaches on the forefront of this beer.

Creature Comforts Curious 6 is limited to just a few hundred bottles, tour release only.

Style: American Wild Ale (w/ Peaches)
Availability: 500ml Bottles

Creature Comforts The King’s Ransom, a collab with Other Half

Creature Comforts The King’s Ransom, a collaboration with Brooklyn, New York’s Other Half Brewing, has been canned.

The Athens, Georgia based brewery has been teasing the collaboration for weeks on social media. The King’s Ransom is a Baltic porter, which stylistically is a higher in alcohol, more robust porter (when comparing to traditional English styles.)

“Creature Comforts is well-versed in lager brewing because of our experience dialing in the Bibo recipe over the course of a few years now, and Other Half is very versatile when it comes to recipe creation. So they brought a wealth of knowledge on flavor development. – Adam Beauchamp, Co-Founder, Brewmaster”

Distribution was not mentioned by Creature Comforts. The beer will available at the brewery and select events around Atlanta and Athens, Georgia starting April 8th, 2016.

Style: Baltic Porter
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.

Creature Comforts Emergence, brewery release March 5th

Creature Comforts Emergence will debut to the public on March 5th, 2016. This beer will be the brewery’s first large bottle release of the year.

Creature Comforts Emergence is an tart blond ale (American wild ale), that has been fermented using at least four strains of the brewery’s house Brettanomyces yeast, and has been resting in wine barrels for a full year until it was bottled in January, 2016.

“This is the beer we plan to make again when we get  new, freshly emptied wine  barrels,”  said  Wood   Cellar  and  Specialty  Brand  Manager,  Blake  Tyers. “As  a  result of using fresh barrels every time, Emergence will never be the exact same beer twice, and we are extremely proud of the  2015  vintage.”

Beer Street Journal has had a sneak preview of this upcoming release, and we think this might be one of the best barrel-aged beers by the Athens, Georgia brewery to date.

Creature Comforts Emergence a 750 miliiter bottle offering, only available at a special tour on March 5th.

Style: American Wild Ale (Barrel Aged. Wine Aged.)

Creature Comforts See the Stars, Aged in Maple Syrup Bourbon

Creature Comforts See the Stars, a new maple bourbon barrel aged imperial stout, releases September 12th.

The brewery experimented with this beer before the brewery officially opened. Co-founders Adam Beauchamp and David Stein maple-treated Corsair barrels. The end result was fantastic, so the recipe has been upscaled for a public release.

Creature Comforts obtained Willet bourbon barrels and sent some to Mac’s Maple, a maple syrup farm in New Hampshire. After four months, the barrels were drained and sent to the Athens, Georgia brewery.

Creature Comforts Arcadiana Saison on Draft This Month

Creature Comforts Arcadiana Saison joins the brewery’s draft only series in August.

Created an American interpretation of the classic style, Creature Comforts Arcadiana Saison uses an uncommon strain of yeast from Belgium. The yeast gives the beer a juicy, fruity notes, and light phenolic spice (gives the beer a little acidity). Arcadiana is generously kettle hopped and dry hopped with Lemondrop and Crystal hops.

Those in Atlanta and Athens, Georgia markets will find Creature Comforts Acadiana Saison on tap by mid-August.

Style: Saison
Hops: Lemondrop, Crystal
