Super Bowl Bud Ads Recap

So Super Bowl XLVI is over, Giants take it all. Regardless of your beer tastes, I’m pretty sure you were looking forward to the beer commercials. Anheuser-Busch was the exclusive beer sponsor the big game, explaining the absence of Miller-Coors, Heineken and the like. USA Today teamed up with Facebook to host Admeter, allowing viewers to vote on their favorite commercials.

As it stands now, the Doritos “Sling Baby” has taken the first spot. So how did AB do? First and foremost, they finally nationally launched Platinum, a new 6% ABV “top shelf” beer. Those 2 commercials didn’t rank as high as the Weego, and Prohibition commercials. The Weego commercial is intended to help raise money for the Animal Rescue Foundation. Weego is himself a rescue dog, adopted by a dog trainer. His talents earned him the role in the commercial, motivating Bud Light to help raise money for Animal Rescue. Every like on Facebook gives a dollar to the foundation. (Personal Note: No one gives a crap if you like Bud or not, your like helps saves homeless animals. Do it.) New York Giants, This Buds For You

The New York Giants just won the Super Bowl. In true Anheuser-Busch fashion, the brewery has a commemorative Bud Light for that.

I’m sure you die hard Giants fans will want to grab some of these congratulatory Limited Edition New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI aluminum bottles (if they become publicly available). Perhaps these will be amongst the many beverages the Eli and his teammates celebrate with tonight. Who drinks the ones with the Patriots logos on them?

Budweiser MLB Anaheim Angels

New for 2012 are the Budweiser MLB branded cans. Back in December of 2010, AB-InBev renewed their sponsorshop of Major League baseball. The new contract is a multi-year contract worth millions. Interestingly, the deal is only for 26 of the 30 teams. As expected, artwork for team branded cans have surfaced. [Buds&Baseballs]

Check Out Budweiser Canada’s Flash Mob Super Bowl Video

Because I play beer league hockey, this commercial makes me smile. The Budweiser commercial set to air in Canada during the Super Bowl. The spot features 2 hockey teams, The Amigos & Generals playing in Port Credit Arena in Mississauga, Ontario. An open casting call was held for fans to fill the arena. The were simply told they were going to be watching a game. Each were paid $150 each. The extras were split into two groups, dressed and painted up for each side, and shortly after the game started, “flash mobbed” the arena.

As for the cameras? The players were told they were staring in a documentary. You’ll see the results.

Best line… “We have a kerfuffle!”
