Great Divide To Retire Wild Raspberry, Samurai

I am told that Great Divide Brewing (Denver, CO) is going to cut two beers from their lineup. Wild Raspberry Ale (fruit beer) and Samurai (blonde ale with rice). These cuts reflect the new offerings that Great Divide is bringing to the table in 2013 – Orabelle, and HeyDay.

Terrapin Dos Cocoas Voted Back in 2013

The results are in. The people have spoken. Terrapin’s Dos Cocoas has been voted back into production for 2013. Dos Cocoas made debut as Side Project #4 in 2009. Dos is a porter brewed with two different kinds of cocoa. Cocoa powder in the brewing process (whirlpool) and then a month resting on cocoa nibs.

There was some ballot box stuffing that was apparently pushing Indiana Krunkles in the lead. The brewery knew was was up, and made sure the right candidate won. No mention of the 2013 release date.

Style: Porter (w/ Cocoa)
Hops: EKG, Fuggle
Malts: 2 Row Silo, Munich Lt., Munich Dark, Crystal 85 L, Chocolate Malt, Black Malt
Availability: TBA on re-release

5.8% ABV

With More Martinis, James Bond’s Booty & Kills Go Up [Infographic]

What a brilliant infographic. As you can clearly see, the more James Bond drinks, the more kills he makes. The booty # goes up too. The Economist did a little bond research for this graphic. In SkyFall, bond drinks Heineken. Will the lack of martinis kill his libido?

Cartersville, Georgia Anheuser Busch Plant Cans Water For Sandy Victims

The Anheuser-Busch plant in Cartersville, Georgia has a plan for those in need of water when a disaster strikes. They turn their (3) 2,000 can per minute canning lines into water canning lines. In one day, the 9 million barrel a year brewery can produced about 44,000 cases of fresh drinking water for disaster victims, and here’s the kicker. The company has been doing it for almost 100 years.

The process is fairly simple for the brewery. The conversion takes about 8-9 hours to run clean, potable water into the system. Then you crank up the line and can away. Obviously the cans tested, and marked clearly that this is water, not lager.  All 44,000 cans are donated at shipped by Anheuser-Busch. Clean drinking water is always a necessity after a disaster like Hurricane Sandy.

Chicago Bears Fans Drink Nashville Dry

The Chicago Bears stomped the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The Bears fans drank the bars dry. Apparently many of the the Music City bars were either sold out of beer, or damn close to it.  Quarterback Jay Cutler even said it sounded like a home game. Good job Bears fans. [Sports.Yahoo.com]
