NEW! Easy Rider: Hopped Up Session Ale. Dry hopped with galaxy hops.  (May)

Pumpkinfest: Fest-style beer with pumpkin & spices (August)

Moo-Hoo: Chocolate Milk Stout (Nuff said) – November)

All American Pilsner: (July)

Side Projects

Side Project 16: Phlux Capacitor – Strong Ale, 12.1% (1.21 Gigawatts!!) 88.8 IBUs (Miles Per Hour!) Oak aged for plenty of “Biff” Tannins (March)

Side Project 17: Samurai Krunkles – IPA brewed with jasmine rice, Sorachi Ace hops, Green Tea, Ginger (June)

Side Project 18: Peanut Butter Chocolate Porter – 2 names in the works, Liquid Bliss, and Ode To Reese. (September)

10th Anniverary Ale – Not going to be called 10th Anniversary. Look for some complex math equation adding up to 10 though.  You can glean the beer style from this: Chouffe yeast, coriander, 2 types of orange peel, chamomile, nelson sauvin hops.

Reunion Beer 2012:  Brewed again with Shmaltz.  Each brewery will do a new take on the brew – together and apart.

What Is O’Fallon Brewing Up To?

Evan Benn, beer journalist for STL Today, spent some time with O’Fallon Brewing recently.  O’Fallon is based in O’Fallon Missouri and was  purchased about 8 months ago by former Anheuser-Busch executive Jim Gorcyca.  Here’s a few things the brewery has on the horizon:

B.D.S. (Belgian Style Dark) will be released in February.  Belgian ale aged for a year in port barrels

Summer Ale – Name TBA, arriving in May.  (Seasonal used to be Wheach before it went year round.)

Hopefully in 2012, O’Fallon will go from 6,500 barrels a year, to over 10,000.  The brewery recently increased distribution to Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Be sure to check on the whole article by @EvanBenn, he spends a brew day over at O’Fallon.  Good Stuff. Cheers Evan! [STLToday]

SweetWater Founder Named Among Georgia Most Influential

A special congratulations is in order for SweetWater’s Big Kahuna himself Freddy Bensch.  Today he was named one of Georgia’s most influential people.  That puts the brewery founder among some of Georgia’s elite people – like Arthur Blank (Owner, Atlanta Falcons) US Senator Saxby Chambliss, Frank Blake (CEO/Chairman of Home Depot), John Brock (CEO, Coca-Cola) & more.  It’s quite an honor.

Steve Farace of SweetWater writes on the brewery’s blog – [Freddy] joins….The owner of the Falcons — Arthur Blank, US Senator Saxby Chambliss, Chief Justice of Georgia’s Supreme Court — Carol Hunstein, Chuck Leavell of the Rolling Stones and Allman Brothersand a plethora of other movers and shakers in the great state of Georgia!  We can’t wait to share the news with his mom, she’ll be thrilled at what a fine young man her son has turned into. 15 year’s of heady beers for sure, and (allegedly) influencing folks all along the way!! Wait till they get a load of us at the official party next week!

Side note, the solar array as mentioned is still in the works by the brewery.  Just Google Solyndra and you can see how THAT turned out.  SweetWater turns 15 next month, and will be celebrating in style of course. [SweetWater]
