Bar Recreates Brazilian Slum For World Cup

The World Cup is just hours away from starting, and a bar in Milwaukee is ready. Perhaps not in the best way either. The Nomad Pub has constructed a temporary courtyard dubbed “Brasil on Brady” (the street the bar is on) that resembles “favelas” of Rio de Janeiro.

A cool idea for a minute until you think it through (like the seemingly the rest of the internet did). A Favela is basically a Brazilian slum. Hell, that’s what term means in Portuguese.

Basically, the bar reconstructed an authentic Brazilian Favela, complete with laundry strewn across the patio, and filled it with flat panel TVs and expensive drinks.

They even misspelled “favela.”
