Avery Brewing will retire Demons of Ale

Avery Brewing will retire the “Demons of Ale” series at the end of this year to make room for an expanding 2017 lineup. The “Demons of Ale” series includes Samael’s, The Beast, and Mephistopheles.

Additionally, the brewery will discontinue The Kaiser and The Czar, part of the “Dictator Series.” The only beer from the “Dictator Series” to survive into 2017 is The Maharaja Imperial IPA. The last surviving “dictator” will now be available year round in a new four pack of 12oz. cans.

The 2017 expanding line up will focus on building up the “Botanicals and Barrels” series, currently consisting of Raspberry Sour and Vanilla Bean Stout. Avery Brewing expects to expand this series to six-year round offerings by the end of spring 2017, adding Tangerine Quad, Apricot Sour, Ginger Sour, and Coconut Porter to the lineup.

“The interesting thing about our ‘Botanicals & Barrels’ series is that as beautiful and simple as the final beer is, it is the culmination of an insanely complex and intricate process. It’s both an art and a science to allow the menagerie of competing flavors in the beer and the barrels to be married together and end up in a masterfully blended barrel-aged beer.” – Travis Rupp Head of the Barrel-Aging program,

Avery Brewing hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility of finding members of the “Demon’s of Ale” series as a one off tap room release at the brewery in the future.
