Anchor Releases Marks Mild In Magnums

Say that a few times after drinking. Anchor Brewing (San Francisco, CA) just released Mark’s Mild in Magnum bottles. The beer celebrates brewmaster Mark Carpenter’s 41st year at Anchor. Since becoming brewmaster, Mark has been innovating. Brekle’s Brown joined Anchor’s ranks in 2011, followed by the Zymaster Series in 2012.

This summer, the second release in the Zymaster Series hit taps. That’s not enough to commemorate Mark’s hard work right? Starting today, 1.5 liter “magnum” bottles are on sale at Anchor’s taproom. ($29.99).

Flavor? Mark’s Mild is inspired by the British Mild style, lower in alcohol, but high in flavor. This brew has a malty sweetness with hints of chocolate, nuts, caramel and toffee, and a smooth, thirst-quenching finish, proving the notion that beer doesn’t have to be extreme to be interesting.

Congrats to Mark Carpenter for a great 41 years. Here’s to 40 more. [PressRelease]
