New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Maple, along with Dragon’s Milk Reserve Oatmeal Cookie, are two new potential Dragon’s Milk variations coming in the near future.
The “Reserve Series” is home to variations of the brewery’s Dragon’s Milk, a barrel-aged imperial stout. The beer is aged in New Holland Spirits bourbon barrels. These variations include Banana Coconut, S’mores, Mexican Spice Cake, Vanilla Chai Spice, even the extremely addictive Rum Barrel Coconut.
On deck – Dragon’s Milk Reserve Maple, an 11% alcohol by volume maple heavy edition. Neither Oatmeal Cookie or Maple have been officially announced by the brewery.
New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Maple is a 12-ounce bottle and draft limited release. TBA.
New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Oatmeal Cookie, a new variant on the year-round barrel-aged imperial stout is on the horizon.
A few years ago the brewery starting brewing up variations of their well-loved barrel-aged imperial stout, Dragon’s Milk. To date, we’ve seen versions like Chocolate Orange, Banana Coconut, and even Smores. Now it looks like an Oatmeal Cookie variant is on the way.
If history tells us anything, expect cinnamon, cloves oats, and even raisin flavors, complimenting the vanilla and chocolate background of Dragon’s Milk.
New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve Oatmeal Cookie will be available in 12-ounce bottles and draft. The brewery has not yet announced this release.
New Holland Dragon’s Milk White debuts year-round in the coming weeks.
The Holland, Michigan based brewery had Dragon’s Milk, a barrel-aged imperial stout, for many years now. It is will one of the most popular year-round barrel-aged stouts in America. Over the past few years, we’ve seen variants of Dragon’s Milk – Chocolate Orange, Banana Coconut, S’mores & more.
After a few days of social media teasing, we now know there is a second Dragon’s Milk to be found year-round – Dragon’s Milk White.
We equate a “white stout” to something like Crystal Pepsi. If you close your eyes, it kind of tastes like Pepsi, or in this case, a stout, but looks nothing like it in color. This stout pours a golden color instead of something resembling motor oil. New Holland states Dragon’s Milk White is “smooth and creamy”, with “flavors of oak, vanilla, cocoa and a hint of bourbon”.
If this wasn’t something completely new, this is the first time you’ve seen any Dragon’s Milk in a 12-ounce can.
Expect to see New Holland Dragon’s Milk White in 12-ounce cans and draft year-round this year.
New Holland Banana Coconut Dragon’s Milk will join the “Reserve” lineup of Dragon’s Milk inspired releases.
The Holland, Michigan based brewery’s Dragon’s Milk is easily one of the most iconic barrel-aged imperial stouts in America. Dating as far back as 2014, the brewery started releasing variants to this stout under the “Reserve” moniker. The series has gotten more and more interesting ever since.
This fall, a new limited release rises from the wood – New Holland Banana Coconut Dragon’s Milk. As the name suggests, the brewery aged the imperial stout on bananas, plantains, and coconuts. This fall pastry stout is 11% alcohol by volume.
This release is ridiculous. Phenomenal. Addictive even. The banana balances perfectly with the coconut, which both give way to the chocolatey, oaky vanilla nuances from the wood. This beer is balanced, rich, and nothing short of incredible. If you ask us, drink this beer in abundance. It may win the title as best Reserve Series release yet.
