Marshall Bottles and Celebrates “5”

Marshall Brewing recently celebrated 5 years in May. Soon they will release “5” an imperial red ale aged in whiskey barrels in 22oz bombers. Marshall has been craft brewing in Tulsa, Oklahoma since 2008.

All of us here at Marshall Brewing Company are excited that our love and passion for craft beer has been embraced for the last 5 years and continues to grow. Hoppin Frog Uses Irish Whiskey Barrels in New B.O.R.I.S. Edition

You might have already seen Hoppin’ Frog Brewing’s (Akron, OH) Barrel Aged B.O.R.I.S. A crazy good, sometimes overlooked, barrel aged imperial stout. Meet a variant of this classic- Bairille Aois B.O.R.I.S. aged in Irish whiskey barrels. The brewery chose these particular barrels to created a cleaner, crisper whiskey characteristic in this dark and brooding stout. Look for this edition on shelves soon.

A cleaner, crisper whiskey character is imparted from very special Irish whiskey barrels, to add a super-smooth, buttery, complex character to our multi-award-winning BORIS The Crusher Oatmeal-Imperial Stout. May the luck of the Irish be with you!

The distilling side of Ballast Point is ready to rock a new whiskey. Aging in barrels now is Devil’s Share. It has spent the last four years aging in virgin American oak.

Look for it in 750ml bottles sometime this year. 46% ABV

Get Down with 2013 Funky Jewbelation

It’s about the time of year again! Funky Jewbelation from Shmaltz Brewing returns for 2013 featuring a blend of six ales and lagers from the Shmaltz beer lineup aged in bourbon and rye whiskey barrels, and hustles in at 9.4% ABV.

This year’s version blends the following:

Jewbelation 15 – aged seven and ten months
Origin Pomegranate Strong Ale – aged 11 months
Bittersweet Lenny’s R.I.P.A. – aged 12 months
Messiah Nut Brown Ale – aged 6 months
Coney Island Lager – aged 12 months
Albino Python – aged 3 months

This year’s barrel math comes out to 55% bourbon barrels and 45% whiskey barrels.

Weyerbacher Brewing Co.’s (Easton, PA) Heresy Imperial Stout gets an artwork makeover. Above is the upgraded artwork, touched with a Gregorian meets Davinci like feel, is a step up from the lightning label before. Heresy is seasonally released in February.
