Flying Dog Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout Hits Shelves
Flying Dog Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout is the first Brewhouse Rarities release of 2015. The beer is inspired by the spicy hot chocolate beverage.
The brewery created Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout with lactose, cinnamon, serano chiles and cocoa powder.
…a combination of sweet spice and roasted chocolate aromas are lollowed by flavors of dark chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and a lingering chili finish.
Flying Dog Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout has already hit the brewery’s tap room. 12oz bottles hit shelves in Flying Dog’s limited distribution territory as early as this week.

Blue Moon’s Latest Creation: Cinnamon Horchata Ale
Blue Moon Brewing has released Cinnamon Horchata Ale. The beer is inspired by milk based cinnamon drink.
For this beer, our brewmaster reached back to his roots and found inspiration in the traditional agua de horchata. Our cinnamon-spiced ale is his interpretation of this delicious Latin beverage. It’s brewed with natural long-grain rice for a creamy texture to complement flavors of cinnamon, making it the perfect treat for a get-together with friends.
Blue Moon Cinnamon Horchata Ale is available in 12oz/6 packs in New York, California, Texas and Denver. Nationwide in the Winter Sampler Pack.

The Bruery Smokey and The Bois For Rare Beer Members
If you are a member of The Rare Beer Club, you have a special treat in store. The Bruery has created a one-off for the club -Smokey and The Bois.
A smokey edition of The Bruery’s fifth anniversary offering Bois.
Smokey & The Bois is a bourbon barrel aged, with cacao nibs and vanilla beans and a whopping 15.5% ABV.
Check the club for future details. This offering will obviously a bit rare.
Pipeworks Renames Batata
Pipeworks Brewing Company’s (Chicago, IL) are the buzz of social media these days. Of course they are, when you have beers like Raspberry Truffle Abduction, Coffee Break Abduction, and Smore Money, Smore Problems.
Pipeworks Batata Obscura looks like a rename of Nisperos Batata. This edition is higher in alcohol, and the brewery mentions it is worthy of cellaring.
It is inspired by the Puerto Rican dessert by the same name. Batata is brewed with sweet potatoes, clove, cinnamon, vanilla and toasted coconut, and is a perfect tribute to the brewery’s Puerto Rican neighbors.

“Horchata” Flavored Beer Returns
One of the first commercially available “Horchata” beers is returning in January. Horchata is a Spanish/Latin American milky drink, made from crush almonds or rice. Poncha Springs, Colorado’s Elevation Beer Company mimics these flavors in Señorita.
If you are one of the lucky ones in Colorado or Texas that can get Señorita, expect flavors or vanilla, cinnamon, & sweet milk. The 2014 recipe was tweaked a little bit, increasing the spicing and milk sugar additions. Just like Elevation’s other releases, look for this in 750ml bottles

Martin House Brewing Company (Texas) is releasing a new boozy offering for the Texas cold – Sugar & Spice Barleywine.
The beer is brewed with cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, plus one not-so-secret addition, Mexican brown sugar.
If you are near Fort Worth, look for this to tap on Friday, December 13th.
