Cigar City Caffe Americano Double Stout (Non Barrel Aged) Bottle Potential

The very highly rated Cigar City Caffe Americano Double Stout is aged in rum barrels. Bottles of the barrel aged offering have been previously available. Now, it looks like the non-barrel aged base beer will be making a bottle appearance.

Cigar City Caffe Americano Double Stout is an imperial stout, brewed with coffee, cacao nibs, and vanilla beans.

Traditional Caffe Americano is made by adding water to espresso. We break all the rules with this Double Stout. We refuse to add water to our beer after fermentation, but have no issues adding beer to our espresso. This deep, dark stout exhibits rich espresso and coffee notes, which are contributed by the generous use of roasted barley and locally masted espresso. That simply is not enough for us. We also add masted, raw chocolate and a hint of vanilla to this big bodied stout. Dodge the red eye and take a shot of the dark.

Cigar City Caffe Americano Double Stout will be available in 22oz bottles. This beer has not been announced by the brewery. Beer Street Journal has contacted the brewery for more information.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Coffee, Cacao Nibs, Vanilla Beans.)
Availability: 22oz Bottles

The Bruery OR XATA, a Horchata Inspired Seasonal

The Bruery (Placentia, CA) is just launched a new nationally distributed, seasonal release, OR XATA. The new offering is based on horchata, a Spanish/Latin American milky drink, made from crushed almonds or rice.

The Bruery OR XATA is a base blonde ale, brewed with rice, cinnamon, vanilla beans and lactose, to give the beer a creamy mouthfeel.

Horchata is a traditional, sweet, milky drink originating in Spain and Latin America that has become quite popular in Southern California, particularly with Mexican cuisine. Our take on the traditionally non-alcoholic drink is a blonde ale brewed with a heavy dosing of rice, cinnamon and fresh vanilla beans along with lactose for a litle extra creamy character. If you didn’t know better, you’d think it was carbonated horchata. The flavor is hard to describe, but for those who know it, you know you love it.

The Bruery OR XATA is available in 750ml bottles.

Style: Blonde Ale (w/ Cinnamon, Vanilla Beans, Lactose.)
Availability: 750ml Bottles.
Release: February, 2015

Blue Pants Double Stuff Pinstripe Stout Releases Soon

Blue Pants Brewery (Madison, AL) will soon release Double Stuff Pinstripe, a variant of their cold weather seasonal.

While Pinstripe is a coffee stout with hints of chocolate, Double Stuff Pinstripe features extra cocoa nibs to bump up the chocolate, and vanilla and lactose to boost the dessert-like flavor.

Take Pinstripe, our rich, chocolatey export stout and add cocoa nibs to bump up the chocolate to a whole new level. Then, add lactose and vanilla to provide a frosting like middle and you have Double Stuff Pinstripe. Are most decadent, popular variant from Pinstripe Fest 2014.

Blue Pants Double Stuff Pinstripe Stout will be available in 22oz bottles.

Availability: 22oz bottles

Spiteful Brewing Malevolence Chocolate Caliente Russian Imperial Stout Released

Spiteful Brewing Malevolence: Chocolate Caliente Russian Imperial Stout releases this week.

The base beer is of course a Russian imperial stout (Malevolence), made even more bold with chili flakes, Aleppo peppers, cacao nibs, cinnamon, and vanilla beans. Inspired by Mexican hot chocolate.

“It’s a big, viscous beer. The sweetness of the base beer makes a nice canvas for the additional spices and ingredients,” said Spiteful co-founder Jason Klein. Spiteful’s original Malevolence Russian Imperial Stout serves as the base beer for the spicy iteration.

Spiteful Brewing Malevolence Chocolate Caliente Russian Imperial Stout is available across Chicago in 22oz bottles.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Cinnamon, Cacao Nibs, Vanilla Beans, Peppers, Chili Flakes)
Availability: 22oz Bottles

Rogue Pumpkin Savior Ale, Spring 2015

Rogue Farms had a bountiful pumpkin harvest this year. Some of those pumpkins are used in Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale. With the excess pumpkins, Rogue frozen the gourds whole, and is creating Pumpkin Savior Ale.

Rogue Pumpkin Savior Ale is a witbier, brewed with fifteen ingredients, including cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla beans, and cloves.

Created with pumpkins grown at rogue farms in Independence, Oregon. This year we had an abundant harvest that left us with extra pumpkins after we brewer  pumpkin patch ale. So rather than let our precious pumpkins rot in the field we decided to save them by freezing them whole and brewing a spring pumpkin wit.

Rogue Pumpkin Savior Ale will be available of 750ml bottles in Spring, 2015.

Style: WItbier (w/ Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Vanilla, Ginger, Cloves)
Availability: 750ml bottles
Arrival: Spring, 2015
