Victory Golden Monkey in Wine Makes “White Monkey”

Victory Brewing recently announced  they were releasing Red Thunder, the brewery’s Baltic Thunder in red wine in November. There is also a potential for Old Horizontal in bourbon, aka Oak Horizontal. Now become aquainted with White Monkey. You know the base beer as Golden Monkey (a tripel). White Monkey is aged in white wine barrels.

Since his birth in 1997, our beloved Golden Monkey has remained playfully delightful and profoundly satisfying. His soul continues to glow with the wisdom of ages and inspired our own stroke of genius. Restless from his continuous journey to joy,we felt that some quiet time in American oak barrels that once matured white wine would further soothe this ale’s silken soul. After his three-month retreat, Golden Monkey emerged refreshed and invigorated with new character and flavor nuances that only make him more profound, and possibly even more playful. Allagash’s Next Draft Offering, Smoke & Beards Collaboration

Allagash Brewing (Portland, ME) launched a rotating saison draft only series this year. Edition #1 was Saison Genever. The second release is dubbed Smoke & Beards, and is a collaboration with De Molen.  The beer is a tripel, with lightly smoked cherry wood malt. The yeast is a Chouffe house yeast.

Draft should start arriving late Sept/Oct a various Allagash accounts.

Avery Nineteen Debuts Today

Avery Brewing turns 19 years old  this year.  Following release tradition, they will release Nineteen – a tripel.

Celebrating nineteen years of brewing could kind of get overlooked what with the big 2-0 coming.  But we will never forget 2011!  Not only was it our largest growth year ever, but we also began designing our new brewing facility!  In excited anticipation of 20 years and the new brewery, we concocted this very traditional, yeast driven, dry and fruity Tripel.  Thanks to those folks (you know who you are) who have been such an integral part of our longevity and success!

Taps today 5/4/12, at 5 pm, at the brewery.  Look for it in your local markets soon.

Allagash Yakuza Ale Hits In May

Allagash Yakuza AleAllagash Brewing’s new Yakuza Ale is the brewery’s tripel, dry hopped with Sorachi Ace and Cascade hops.   It is a draft only offering by the Portland, Maine based brewery.  The real Yakuza, is a Japanese criminal organization based in Japan.  They’ve been known to have as many as 90,000 members.  This beer is less on the crime, more on the hops.

Availability: Draft only.  Also in cask editions
Arrival: May, 2012
