Kona Brewing Magic Sands taps in Hawaii & Cali
Kona Brewing Magic Sands, a new saison, is hitting taps in California and the brewery’s home state of Hawaii.
Using Kona’s farmhouse style ale, the brewery enhanced the flavor with Keitt mangoes.
“Fruit-forward brews are a big hit here in the Islands, so we thought beer lovers on opposite coasts would enjoy them just as much,” said Sandi Shriver, head of Kona Brewing Co.’s brewery operations. “This beer’s distinctive mango flavor and citrusy aroma have a magical effect after a long day at the beach, on the water or anywhere you’re kicking back to unwind.”
Kona Brewing Magic Sands is available on tap in just two states for a limited time.

Reformation Brewery launches “Quest” in new series
Woodstock, Georgia’s Reformation Brewery is launching a new Adventure Series in April, 2016. First up, Reformation Quest.
Quest is a Belgian-style saison, brewed with rye & honey malts, and fermented with Belle Saison yeast.
CoFounder/CEO Spencer Nix says, “These Georgia rivers, fields, and woods call us to carve new paths. There is freedom in open spaces which breeds a new quest in all of us. You live life long enough in this beautiful place and it becomes a part of you. We all bring our own stories to bear on the present, and Quest embodies the story of our rustic brewing heritage and our search for something newmaking something unique to this time and place.”
Reformation Quest is draft only in the brewery’s Georgia markets. Expect more to join this initial release throughout the year.

Jolly Pumpkin Clementina releases March 30th
Jolly Pumpkin Clementina Saison releases at all the brewery’s locations on March 30, 2016.
True to brewery form, Jolly Pumpkin Clementina is more than a saison. The beer features lime peel, yuzu peel, coriander, salt, and the headliner – Clementine. Sounds crazy in a good way? You’re probably right.
If you cut us, do we not bleed Clementines?
Jolly Pumpkin Clementina will be available in 750 milliliter bottles on March 30th. No distribution is planned at this time according to the brewery.

Sierra Nevada introduces Ovila Mix Packs
The Sierra Nevada monastic collaborative series, “Ovila” will soon have a mixed pack for it’s fans this month.
A collaboration with California based Abbey of New Clairvaux, Ovila Abbey Ales is a modern take on Belgian-style abbey ales. When possible, the beers feature ingredients grown and harvests on the monks’ 600 acre working farm.
Instead of releasing a bottle one at a time throughout 2016, the brewery is releasing all three in a mixed pack. Each box features three different 750 milliliter bottles of Ovila. The styles include:
- Ovila Quad with Cherries
- Ovila Brown with Mandarin & Cocoa
- Ovila Saison with Sage
The Sierra Nevada Ovila Mixed Pack is available across the United States while supplies last.
Elevation Raspberry Gulch makes a March return
Elevation Raspberry Gulch is returning to the Poncha Springs, Colorado based brewery’s lineup in March. This time around, you’ll find it in 12 ounce bottles.
The base beer for Raspberry Gulch is an imperial saison, brewed with fresh raspberries. The fine people at the brewery hope to jumpstart your excitement for spring and warmer weather.
Raspberry Gulch’s aroma is dominated by raspberries but is mellowed by a slight white pepper note, thanks to a nice dose of spicy Saaz hops.
Elevation Raspberry Gulch is available in 12 ounce 4 packs in March, across the brewery’s distribution network.

Burial Pinot Noir Barrel Aged Haysaw Saison releases January 23rd
Burial Pinot Noir Barrel Aged Haysaw Saison debuts this Saturday in Asheville, North Carolina.
The brewery took their popular Haysaw Saison brewed with Riverbend Malthouse barley and wheat, and aged in Biltmore Estate Winery (also based in Asheville).
We aged this fine batch in a collection of Pinot Noir barrels from the Biltmore Estate Winery to add a vanilla and vinous character that sublimely melds with Haysaw’s raisin, fig and clove aromas.
Burial Pinot Noir Barrel Aged Haysaw Saison is a 750 mililiter bottle offering. $16 dollars each.

Fonta Flora Land Trust, a special collaboration
Fonta Flora Land Trust will be available starting January 16, 2016. A collaboration with the Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina and Fox Gap Farms.
Fonta Flora Land Trust is an “Appalachian Apple Saison” that features North Carolina Riverbend Malt, barley smoked in-house with Fox Gap applewood. The saison features Fonta Flora’s mix culture saison yeast. But wait, there’s more.
Land Trust went through a second fermentation, this time with Fox Gap Farms organic apple juice, and foraged spice bush twigs. Oh yeah, there is a third fermentation in the bottle.
A portion of the proceeds from this new saison will benefit the Foothills conservation effort.
