Uinta Entices with Sea Legs

As an addition to their Crooked Line series of brews, Uinta Brewing presents their limited release Baltic Porter – Sea Legs. Continuing the trend of Uinta’s artistic spirit, the label was designed by Utah artist Leah Bell. The beer itself is a blend of 2 beers with 40% of the blend being aged in oak barrels.

“Complex and drinkable, Sea Legs delivers flavors of roasted malt and chocolate. Sea Legs was aged in Bourbon Barrels for nearly 12 months adding toasted vanilla and bourbon notes to the flavor profile. This Medium-bodied Baltic Porter has a complex malt profile and mild hop bitterness. With a hidden ABV of 8%, Sea Legs is a siren of a beer.”

Only 1500 cases of this lovely brew were produced making it truly a limited release.

Troegs Drops Scratch #84 & #85 on 12/20

The end of the world is coming and Tröegs Brewing Company will be celebrating with a dual Scratch release on December 20th. The first will be Scratch #84 Belgian Pale Ale dry hopped with Amarillo and Mt. Hood hops. The second will be Scratch #85 Cocoa Porter brewed with 3lbs of cocoa powder per barrel. Both beers will be available starting at 11am draft only (sorry out of towners) but will be available for growler fills.

“The Scratch Beer series has developed into an experimental beer series where we can tinker with new techniques and brew with non-traditional ingredients. Each batch is extremely small and cases and growler fills are only available in our tasting room.”

Triple C Brewing Up All Night

Triple C Brewing (Charlotte, NC) prepares for their first bottle release. Up All Night Breakfast Porter has been chosen for the package kickoff. So named for the copious amounts of coffee from Magnolia Coffee in Charlotte.

This ale is brewed with Flaked Oats, Special B, and Chocolate Malt in the mash. Honey and lactose are added in the boil, then aged on oak chips and infused with locally roasted coffee.

Terrapin’s “Liquid Bliss” Should Arrive This Week

Terrapin’s Liquid Bliss Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter should arrive in stores this week. Bliss, aka Side Project #18 by the Athens, Georgia brewery is first time brewmaster “Spike” and crew have released a beer like this this. It took some time to get the recipe right when brewing with peanuts & peanut butter.
