Bronx Brewery was the first brewery to open it’s doors in the area in over 50 years, debuting Bronx Pale Ale on September 8th, 2011. Those fans of the new brewery has some barrel aged offerings to start looking forward to. Bronx has taken their signature pale ale, and aged it it bourbon barrels. Not many pale ales fine time in bourbon.
This deep amber American pale ale is brewed with 5 different barley malts, generous additions of Cascade and Centennial hops, and a unique strain of yeast. It is dry-hopped, unfiltered and unpasteurized. Finally, it is aged in an American Oak Bourbon barrel to impart notes of Bourbon, oak and faint vanilla.
Tallgrass 8 Bit Pale, & The Coolest Beer Video To Date…
Easily one of the coolest beer promo videos I’ve ever seen. Tallgrass Brewing just released 8-Bit Pale Ale this week. Sadly, not ever drinker on BSJ will remember or know what 8-Bit is or have ever owned an original Nintendo for that matter. (Dude, I’m not old either, but I had one.)
Not only is the artwork badass, but the video just makes this whole beer approach that much cooler. This is just the teaser trailer. A longer video (and video game!!) to follow…
From the PR: 8-Bit Pale Ale is the latest release from Tallgrass Brewing Company and the brewery’s first infused offering. 8-Bit is a traditional American Pale Ale that is “hop-rocketed” using Australian Galaxy Hops at the end of the brewing cycle, giving the beer a massive dose of hops flavor.
While Tallgrass was putting the finishing touches on Velvet Rooster, the world’s first Belgian-style Tripel in a can, they sent out a survey to ask their fans what kind of beer they should brew next. 500 fans responded and the overwhelming request: a super-hoppy pale ale. 8-Bit Pale Ale is the answer to that plea.
Elysian Brewing is celebrating the supposed end of the world with 12 Beers of the Apocalypse. Beer #2 Heather Ale was just released yesterday. So it doesn’t get lost in the shuffle, this release #3 – Fallout. A pale ale brewed with green cadamom.
If the world was coming to an end, what would you brew?
Utilizing artwork by Seattle native Charles Burns from his graphic novel classic, Black Hole, Seattle’s Elysian Brewing and Fantagraphics Books team up to the answer the question with The 12 Beers Of The Apocalyse.
