Deschutes Brewery is planning a release of Mirror Pond cans in the Summer of 2013. This is the first can release by the Oregon based brewery.
Update 4pm: Jason Randles of Deschutes confirmed with Beer Street Journal the brewery is indeed working on cans. There is no set date yet for Mirror Pond’s release. Right now, they are working on mimicking the flavor of the pale ale in cans. As soon as the cans pass the sensory panels, it will be ready to rock.
Other interesting things to note – this is the only offering planned for cans in 2013. The cans are contracted, as the current faciility has no room for a canning line. If the cans are successful, Deschutes could put in its own canning line when they expand the production facility.
Official release date will be announced by Deschutes closer to launch.
