New Belgium & Odell Create “FOCOllaboration”

For the first time ever, New Belgium Brewing and Odell Brewing team up on a new collaboration brew.

FOCOllaboration is an American pale ale joining the Hop Kitchen Series. This summery newbie is brewed with New Belgium’s favorite hops – Centennial, Cascade, and Citra, alongside Fawcett crystal malts, an Odell favorite.

“Over the years we’ve shared everything from laughter, to beers, to perspective,” said New Belgium Brewing CEO, Kim Jordan. “FOCOllaboration celebrates that camaraderie and the mutual respect of being a couple of brewers who grew up together in the same neighborhood.”

Interestingly, Odell and New Belgium are less than a mile apart from each other in Fort Collins, Colorado. Even though they are so close, they haven’t collaborated until now.

Style: Pale Ale
Hops: Centennial, Citra, Cascasde
Malts: Fawcett

Availability: 22oz Bombers. Both breweries territories

Both Chase and Spike love using rye malt, so that came first. Spike contributed a new hop neither has used before, Azacca. This new hop gives beer a bright, tropical, citrusy flavor.

Azaccattack! will be released at Twain’s on Monday, May 12th to kick off American Craft Beer Week.

New Holland Announces Carhartt Collaboration Brew

A little while back, New Holland Brewing (Holland, MI) announced a very special collaboration/partnership with work clothes producer Carhartt.

This fall, the collaboration comes together in a craft brew dubbed The Carhartt Woodsman. Woodsman is a session-strength pale ale, aged in bourbon barrels.

This beer is not only a celebration of Carhartt’s 125th anniversary, it’s first and foremost a salute to hard-working men and women who deserve a refreshing reward after a long day’s work,” said Tony Ambroza, senior vice president of marketing at Carhartt. “A flavorful Carhartt ale from an authentic partner like New Holland is the perfect way to honor our consumers and the hard work they do each day.”

New Holland Carhartt Woodsman is brewed with Michigan Cascade hops that blend well with the barrel aging. Look for 12oz bottles of this offering in all of New Holland’s distribution states.

Style: Pale Ale (Barrel Aged. Bourbon.)
Hops: Cascade

Availability: 12oz Bottles. All New Holland Markets
Arrival: October, 2014

4.5% ABV

Fun Fact: The Tin Woodsman, from The Wizard of Oz, was penned in Holland, Michigan by L. Frank Baum in 1899. Carhartt was already ten years old.
