Terrapin’s latest Krunkles is headed to shelves. The fictitious (or no so fictitious) Samurai Krunkles gets shipwrecked in Japan. This Side Project #17 is an Asian inspired IPA, brewed with jasmine rice, ginger and jasmine green tea. That’s on top of 5 different hop varieties you’ll find in this brewing improvisation.
This Asian-inspired IPA is brewed with fragrant jasmine rice, ginger and jasmine green tea for a bold and unique set of flavors built to balance out the hoppy kick present in all Krunkles brews. Yes, Krunkles is known for his love of hops and the Samurai Krunkles is no exception with five hops in the mix. This beer is our homage to the man and the beers we think he brewed while studying with these ancient masters. We call it his version of the tea ceremony.

Lagunitas burns down this house in DayTime: A Fractional IPA. The description talks of burning it all down and starting something new. Perhaps we all need that sometimes.
We stood there for a while watching as the house burned. As the roof collapsed. As the rear wall with the whole back deck still connected surged forward under the weight of the flames, momentarily smothering the flare below. It only to explode brightly with a rush of cinders and a wall of fresh heat thrust in our direction. What artifact had just burst into the midnight air? A wedding dress? An old box of photographs? It was all gone or going now. The blaze was making something new at the same time. Something more primal and less evolved By morning the weighty things of the past would be reduced to vapor, heat, light, and cinders – receptive to the slightest wishful breeze. There is a freedom in burning down the house of fixed realities and it confers an undeniable lightness to being. We didn’t invent truths; They invented us. Come see it all sometime or just call us!

You’ve heard these guys on 106.5 The End over the years speaking of their love of craft beer. We found out very quickly just how strong this love is and we’ve now made two batches of their IPA. This American IPA has a strong malt backbone coming in at 6.0% ABV, 60 IBU’s, and 9.7 SRM. The four different malts used to make this one are offset by Columbus, Magnum, Cascade, and Santiam hops added throughout the brew. Sipping this IPA, you get tastes of caramel along with some toasty bread notes.
