Introducing Grainstorm, brewed with Simcoe and Amarillo hops, roasted wheat malt for color, and then dry hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, and Citra hops.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (Milton, DE) has a long standing history with beer and wine. You’ll notice that most recently in Noble Rot, a beer brewed with grape must. Just like Noble Rot, Sixty-One is born out of Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione’s experimental nature. Years ago, Sam started pouring a little red wine in his glass of 6o Minute IPA. Truly a marriage of beer and wine.
Sixty-One takes the brewery’s year round 60 Minute IPA and adds Syrah grape must from California. Look for Sixty-One this March, then 4 times a year.Style:IPA (w/ Grape Must) Availability: 12oz bottle/ 4 packs, Draft Arrival: March, 2013

Interesting Fact: The name Sixty-One is a reminder that this beer is Dogfish Head’s best-selling 60 Minute IPA plus one new ingredient. The label, painted by Sam, isn’t your typical watercolor. Calagione mixed the green pigment with beer and the red pigment with wine. The browns on the label are done with melted chocolate.

“By utilizing new hop varietals coming out of the Hop Breading Company in Yakima, WA as well as the previously developed hops, we have the opportunity to be innovative while we continue to re-brew some of our favorite hoppy recipes from the past.”
The first of which, their black IPA, is expected to launch in February. This pitch black beer appears to be a malty stout but don’t be fooled – at 85 IBUs this beer is anything but. This beer will feature hops from the Pacific Northwest giving it a piney and floral aroma and taste.
Other beers in this series include an Imperial Red Rye IPA, a Session IPA, and more. All Hop Odyssey series beers will be available in kegs in the 37 states Green Flash distributes.
